Why not just use /ignore? Its much faster and more convenient than getting a gang together to /vote mute folk.

hmm, try not to make a big issue of this yoda . i tend to favour /ignore , but if someone is really annoying the community at large the the /vote mute mechanism brings that annoyance to the attention of the devs .

It really is a delicate balance , and as such VO is generally a tolerant community . We acknowledge that sometimes the stresses of RL flow into VO , and to an extent the community as a whole tries to absorb those stresses .

There is however, a point at which that absorbtion becomes stressful or unpleasant for the community at large . I have no definitive answers ; just a concept of a vaguely grey line ...........

The /vote mute mechanism has, in my experience, been used in a way that wasn't vengeful and self righteous a total of three times.

/vote mute is a good tool when used properly, however in most cases it isn't. Especially when its part of a campaign, which this sounds like it was another of.
