Obsidian's Mining Events (GM run event Fri 7/18)
TGFT is in the process of organizing hardy miners and combat defenders to complete mineral excavation contracts in bot infested sectors.
The universe is changing and there is a growing demand for ores. Several groups and factions are trying to corner the ore market. To stay ahead of the competition Council Member Obsidian has secured ore contracts for TGFT guild members, probationary members and any other available pilot.
Our goal is to mine ore from sectors that contain hive bots to practice self-defense techniques and group mining techniques. Hopefully the cooler asteroids will allow us to mine larger amounts of ore and we will yield larger profits in exchange for the increased risks. Pirates will be hunting us and there is a good change of failure, however we must persist and strive to overcome all obstacles.
The next contract is Friday at 7pm CT.
Please respond to this thread and I will contact you with further information

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Duration: 45-60mins
Location: Un-aligned space to allow fighting and for “harder” bots
Number of Players: 4 to 32 (multiple teams of up to 8 players) Pirates are not considered part of a team
Summary: This is a team mining event, teams compete to mine a specific amount of ores and return with the ores to the home station within a given time limit. Player pirates, Hive bots, NPC pirates and opposing teams can interfere with the mining process.
Roles available to participants:
Miners- mine ores and bring them back to the station to be dropped for the guide.
Defenders- defends the miners (haulers) and possibly attacks players from other teams
Player Pirates (optional)- attacks all other non-pirates
Haulers (optional)- Bring ores to station
Rules:
1) No mining in station sectors
2) Must mine the ores during the event times, no pre-mining (honor system)
3) No fighting in the NFZ of the home base station.
4) Ores are unloaded outside of the home base station for guide to collect and tally. Players must announce the cargo they are dropping and wait for confirmation before dropping and leaving sector. Rushing this process can lead to the guide being unable to tally the ores with the correct team.
5) There are 1 to 5 “ore orders” to fill, each order is worth points towards the final score, the team with the most points wins. If any order goes unfilled, the pirates win.
6) All players can return to the event if killed, as long at there is time remaining.
7) There will be a 5 minutes left warning before for the end of the event. Players must be in the sector by the 1 min warning to have ore still in a ship counted towards the team tally.

7pm CT, do you mean CET with that?? If so, I might join, been a while since my last tgft minig event and I used to like them.
Never shown to one of these as an attacker, cos its futile. Spawning more bots just cos more pirates show isnt fun for pirates.
7pm CET, my time. or GMT -5 so that would be 24:00 GMT
There are some areas without bots but still have asteriods.

Yoda, you don't know what you've missed. These used to be more fun than Nation War, for sure. Just ask Ecka or Broma-ba how much fun I ...errr... we used to have. Too bad I'm traveling.
If you guys want to pretend I'm there, just type /explode once or twice when you get your mining Taur about 3/4 full.
:D

Awesome! I love these things, and will try hard to be there!
