A peak into Jewells character.

Jewells lay sleeping in silent bliss, with memmories of her youth playing through her dreams. Playing with her much older sister, Kellin, aboard their parent's ship while transporting ore they had mined. Being chased through the high grass on Divinia by Garen Koth, who had the audacity to attempt to kiss her. All of these were pleasant in one way or another, but soon another, more recent dream entered her subconscious thought. One of a dark man that she couldn't quite see, he wore the uniform of the Serco military but that was all she knew, having no idea of Serco insignias. The dream started as it always did, with the strange man strapping into the pilot's chair of some fighter and launching. Then the scene fazed out and she would see him again in some sort of battle with plsama bolts scoring his ship. With muffled half sentences she thrashes against the blankets as if trying to fight off the Serco Pilot's attackers. Her long, curly, aubern hair flicked about her pillow as she saw the UIT pirate comming in from the side, rockets already launching. 'NO!!" she yelled, trying desperatly to make the pilot see what was comming, and as always the rockets strike the already dammaged ship and it bursts apart flinging fire and warped metal in all directions. Still feeling the heat of the blast she bolts upright in her bunk, striking her head on the frame and rolling into the floor, blanket and limbs akimbo. She lay there for long moments thinking about the pilot until in exasperation she kicked the blanket off and sat up.

"What do I care if some hot shot, Serco pilot gets himself blown up halfway across the universe?!?" with that statement she rose and threw the blanket on the bed." He would just shoot me soon as speak to me." The last was little more than a whisper.

Shaking her unruly curls out of her face, she headed for the sanitation unit to begin getting ready for the day, she was certainly not going to get anymore sleep tonight. A short time later she sat at the console of her Rev and stared at the navcom with troubled, blue-green eyes for a long moment before laying in a course for Corvus, a station that she had heard many Serco frequented.

" Jewells, you are a stupid girl.. chasing a dream that can't be real." she commented to herself as she launched. Perhaps proving it wasn't real would make the dream go away. That was the thought that went with her as she engaged the jump drive.

Through out her life Jewells had been having dreams that occasionally came true. Most of them she could shrug off, discounting them as coincidence. This Dream, how ever, was persistent and beginning to bother her in ways that the other dreams had not. She didn't quite know what to think of it. Most likely it would be nothing and she would be happy to go on her merry way, trading and mining as she went.

Shaking her head, she spoke to herself again as she often did on these long runs. "I don't know what is expected of me when and if I do find this fella. I mean what do you say to someone in that situation? 'Hi. My name is Jewells and I had this dream about you.. would you like for me to rescue ya?' Or 'Please don't shoot the nice lady who is helping you.'"Despite herself she chuckled at the last one.

" Bah..it is going to be nothing and this is going to be one of those silly things that you tell your friends about when you get drunk." She had almost convinced herself by the time she jumped into Corvus Sector. The diversity of ships was not that different from other places she had been but the number of Serco vessels was alarming. " Yep, I am a stupid girl.." she let the rest of what she was thinking trail off as she hurried to dock with the station and take care of the usual forms and things that needed to be filed with the dock authority.

Having taken care of the red tape entailed in docking at a station, Jewells sat on the edge of her bunk, leaning her head against the bulkhead. The cool metal strangely cooling her nerves. After a few minutes she sighed and stood up reaching for the airlock cycle controls and exited the ship. The dock was like many she had seen, bustling with the business of trade and ship repairs, which she found comforting. There were many guilds and every nation represented here, noted by the insignias and uniforms.

Her own jumpsuit bore no such identifying qualities. Its soft gray material and pocketed design was functional and nondescript, which was what she wanted. Her hair, as uncooperative as usual, was drawn into a single braid that reached her slim waist with untamed whisps of curls escaping here and there, framing her face.

Squaring her shoulders and sliding her hands into her pockets, Jewells walked to the dock egress and into the rest of the base, her general direction leading her past shops and finally to the bar's entrance. Everywhere she tread, she held her chin up and met the eyes of those she passed with a friendly smile, even the Serco who sometimes gave her hostile looks.

Upon stepping into the bar's entrance, her heart jumped, racing so loudly that she was sure everyone here could hear it. There were quite a few Serco here mixed in with UIT and a few Itani. Her first instinct was to turn around and get the Hell out of here but that wouldn't get her anywhere closer to finding out anything helpful about the mysterious Serco pilot, and Jewells could be stubbornly persistent when she had to be.

A low cough behind her, drew a glance over her shoulder to a man wearing a green suit with the TGFT insignia on the shoulder. Feeling a bit embarrassed even though the UIT man had been polite, she moved out of the way and through the crowded tap room, towards the polished metal of the bar. Several people glanced her way and she met each one with her typical warm smile. A few people noted the understated grace in which she walked and the soft, pretty cast of her features, but her clothing and attitude did not imply that she was here for companionship so most went back to what they were doing previously.

Jewells was more than happy to be discounted in this manner. The last thing she wanted was some drunk guy, or girl for that matter, slobbering and spilling thier drink on her. Upon reaching the bar, Jewells slipped in between two Serco traders and smiled at the bar tender.

"I'll take a Serco Ale." being a curious sort and having a particular interest in most things Serco, she thought this was a good chance to explore a bit of the tastes of the culture. The sound of her 'Back Water' Itani accent drew the attention of the two Serco traders whom both looked down at her.

With a big smile she nodded to them and raised her brows " Hi, how ya'll doin?" Better to act like herself, putting on heirs was never her style and she wasn't about to start now.

The shorter Serco gave her an irritated look and went back to sipping his own drink with out a word.

The taller of the two smiled in spite of himself and replied." I am doing good but you should be careful drinking Serco Brews, they may be stronger than you are accustomed to."

They both chatted about simple, light subjects and Jewells began to feel that maybe not ALL Serco were mental cases with unreasoning blood lust. After about an hour, her companion excused himself and left. It was at that moment that she realized, she had told him her name but he had never given his.

Shaking her head and smiling she chuckled to herself." What a smooth job that was..." The rest was muffled by the bottle as she took the last sip of her Ale.

Jewells finished her ale and set the bottle on the table, studying the simple but clean profile of the glass. To others she must have seemed engrossed in the examination of a simple beverage holder, but her mind was running through scenarios of what she could or should do when she next met a friendly Serco. After half an hour or so she stood and immediatly felt a rush as the ale choose that moment to make its impact felt on her system, primarily her balance. Jewells swayed slightly as she grabbed the back of her chair to steady herself.

"That Serco fella wasn't kidding..." she said to herself with a flush rising on her cheeks.

This will never do. Jewells told herself as she noted the distance she had to walk to the bar's exit, muchless the distance required to reach her ship. She certainly didn't want to make a fool of herself especialy so soon after ariving here. While thinking of the best way to make her exit without making a complete spectical of herself, the TGFT fellow from earlier stepped to her side and smiled.

" Miss, this can be a rough station, I can see that you are ready to depart, may I offer you an escort to your ship?" His voice had that certain quality to it that made her want to trust him and his friendly smile enforced that. "I suppose I should introduce myself aswell, my name is John Eldritch."

Jewells looked into his light blue eyes for a moment, trying to decide if she should trust her instincts and accept his help. Seeming to come to a decision, she smiled one of her winningly, warm smiles and nodded her head. " Well Mr. John Eldritch, I am Jewells Nallorin and I would be grateful for your assistance."

John smiled again and offered her his arm. Jewells hooked her arm with his, using his balence to impove her own. " Thank you.. I don't usually get this drunk. My ship is in Bay 8-b."

Nodding John led her to the exit, a snicker from a man wearing a fuzzy yewllow hat, followed them out the door. John shot the fuzzy hat wearing man a glare and continued out the door and down the hall of the main entertainment level. As they walked he pointed out things of interest and doled out bits of advice, most of witch Jewells tried to remember. Soon they reached her ship and she looked at him and smiled again.

"Thank you, John. I would have embarrassed myself to no end if you hadn't come to my rescue." She wasn't sure when she had stopped calling him Mr.Eldritch. He just seemed to have the effect of putting her at ease.

"It was my pleasure Jewells. TGFT is always glad to help new traders." For a moment he seemed about to say something else but decided against it.

"I think I can manage from here." Jewells said. Not wanting to impose on John anymore than she had already. She was sure he would want to get back to his friends and his drinking. In addition to that she was beginning to think that bed was a good idea and the sooner the better.

John took his leave with another smile and waited just long enough to make sure she got in her ship safely then turned making is way back to the bar and the ribbing his friends would surely give him.

Jewells closed the air lock and leaned against the wall. " That's just great...First day on station and you get so drunk that someone has to help you get home.." Thinking about it further as she unbraided her hair, she thought it wasn't a complete disaster. John had seemed like a nice, non-judgmental kinda fella and might be a good contact for the future. " Maybe I could even ask him if he wants to go out for a drink sometime and find out what he knows about the Serco..first hand and all." That seemed like a good idea to her, one that she may follow up with.

With a big yawn she thought about her comfortable bed and made her way to it, holding on to the walls as she went. Upon reaching the bunk she flopped down and barely managed to slip her boots off before sleep inched it's way through her drunken thoughts.
