163 rd Nation War
An excellent 163 rd Nation War , good turnout with many newer players joining in .
Please note that swarms and Lmines are banned from NWs due to lag problems, but that the latter are under review. Oh, and Biocom mines are too... And don't even think about bringing a pet Furie.
Please note that folk coming back to watch should be in an EC class ship, and stay 2000m from the action using zoom to watch. If you come back in anything else it makes it very difficult for me to work out what is going on, and in extreme circumstances may lead to the disqualification of your team.

A fun NW , excellent combat action, good to see newer players joining in. The Itani team engaged Serco from the off. Good flying all round, a hectic battle, a lot of close action. Serco hung on well, but a Narrow win to UIT.
The 2 surviving UIT team members, Qut and Mick split the 20 million cr Prize.
The NW prize is sponsored jointly by TGFT , CLM, M.Wittman , Waldoze, Tworivers, John Eldritch, Blitzkreig Bob, Pickaxe Pete, Wild Gramps, Jestasis Bess, ITAN and Tohasandra Chi.

May I ask all players to stay close to their nation group and remain relatively stationary at the start, makes it easier for me to record names .

On a positive note the changes to FF in no way damage the concept of the NW, though I saw a certain hesitancy to get into tight furballs. I think folk will soon learn to adapt their techniques, smaller fighting groups and use of the space available being the order of the day.
I see no reason why FF on should not extend to the rest of grey space .

I've been saying it for years. FF will force people to rethink how they're using their flares... or make their teammates really mad at them. I think flares are finally balanced in group combat.

The fight was very close and it was actually due to an unfortunate flaring of either iry or spidey by The Aviator that kinda tipped the scale. Otherwise it would have been Mick that had died.
