Grey's Nation War
Nation War is a community event, that seeks to include the entire community, for the benifit of the entire community.
I did not always feel that it was this way. There was a time when only the "Big Three" could present representation in the Nation War, and there was no room for any other. I felt that if Nation War was to be held in grey, that it should allow grey to present representation on par with the superfactions.
This idea was not universally accepted, and some "debate" ensued. Dispite the various interrest of multiple superfactional concerns, I would not put too much credence in any account that might suggest that the issue escalated beyond galactic proportions. Some degree of "trading paint" was observed, on multiple occasions, by multiple interested parties. I imagine that the laws of probability surely insist that there must have been some uninvolved parties present during this era. The parties that where directly involved where every bit as civil as can be reasonably expected of a spirited debate conducted in the heart of grey.
The Nation War has since then seen the entrance of a grey team many times. With this recognition of the residents of grey, comes an obligation. If you have ever, or do ever intend to join the grey team, then you have the same obligation to protect the Nation War as any other participant.
And while you may have the same obligation, will you concede that you are limited to the same capability? Are you a mere trader, mining beams in mount, that fell into the claws of grey by accident? Are you no more capable of defending your concerns than a teat clinging tani? Are you but a blind toaster that can do no more that fling flares at the nearest roid that offends you?
This is an opportunity to demonstrate that grey has forces and figures of capability, with a resolve that will not accept disservice or disrespect without consequence. That grey can marshall forces and a force of will rival to that of any superfaction. That grey can support a community event, defend it, compete in it, and make it's determination known to anyone that fails to respect it.
Are you a true force of grey? An influence in your domain to be felt and heard and reckoned with? A pilot that can bring a ship and an armament to a paint trading debate, with a point to express and the equipment to express it, by the accepted and expected standards and methods of grey? A voice, that ignored, does not cease to be heard?
This is an opportunity.

tl; dr version: unaligned pilots should KOS [HAWK] until further notice.
how is this any different then what normally goes on in vendetta?
You're attacking in-game content, thats how. You're not just attacking players; you are attacking the community as a whole.
Suppose you were a miner and someone heated all of the "good" roids to 1000k. You'd be pretty angry. Now suppose you were a trader and someone crashed the economy? Same story. This is a similar scenario, only involving PvP.
Non-consensual PvP happens. We know. Hell, we endorse the fact! However, by disrupting such a large consentual PvP event just to satisfy your puny ego, you attack the game-play itself. Despite PvP being such a large aspect of game-play, we don't have a whole lot of built-in content to that regard (yet). Nation War is there to compensate for that. Disrupting the event makes the game less fun for everyone--including you, in the long run (although you obviously don't realize it).
This has nothing to do with the community being "weak" or "carebear", peytros. This is about you being an inconsiderate griefing coward who doesn't have the good sense to pick his fights.

Hahaha, I remember when Look...no hands used to do that, until Hortan couldnt take it anymore (having his poor ol' girls getting "beaten up" like that) and paid him to stop.
Fun times.

Well said Roda, hope to see grey teams join in as often as possible. While I plan to keep hosting NWs, I'm really aiming to get a larger base of players involved with events in general. More frequent events and more variation, better all around. Just wanted to throw that in the hat.
Well said Roda...
CLM has already been given the target list, until further notice, if you have the HAWK tag, well..your on it :)

I would still recommend to all pilots to remain away from community events as long as Peytros or [HAWK] are known to be active. They can and will disrupt community events, as he has shown on repeated occasions.
Security issues are numerous, but several guilds are working closely internally and externally on new security measures until a permanent solution on the Community Level or the Developer Level can be put into effect.
That said, I fully endorse independent efforts to generate consensual pvp engagements in a NW-style arena. Those of you interested in hosting these events, please place a link to a forum or guild forum, and security measures can be passed to you to ensure maximum security for these events.
I know that several Serco pilots and I have already met and discussed some security recommendations on ONE's forums, and I would happily pass those on to other interested groups.

Pyromn_Ace, I would not go so far as to recommend to all pilots to stay away from community events due to peytros or anyone else. However, I can see your point that the weaker willed and easily intimidated pilots should avoid conflictual situations. Perhaps you could lead an alternative event in tani space for the feint of heart.
faint. FAINT of heart.
Maybe he meant that the heart that almost beats one way, but beats a different way instead.
He did specify Itani space. I think that qualifies as feint of heart.
