Tonight I tried to do a good deed for a lovely n00b called Xico by bringing him free rockets so he didn't get constantly slaughtered by the Vipers who were "training" him. Strat pirated me and Los Rimsercoguy stole the rockets. It was very rude, and so the man will keep Xico down by denying him equal protection and weaponry.
I issue this challenge to all Vipers: If you can beat me energy only I'll trade for a week.
PROGRESS: One Viper called Teirlhas taken up the challenge and died bravely to a equal setup. Actually he kinda bitched like a punk, but he still lost. Meanwhile, the head Viper Strat has yet to take up the challenge (probably because he knows he'll get pwned)

It is true, though... I don't think I've ever seen a Viper with a setup that didn't include flares in it. But still, considering that the use of flares is only compensation, they're all still rat-bait to any pirate even with them.

Jenn Danthar narrowly defeated me in a fair N2 Vult 3 battle to the Death. I am trader for a week, however the challenge still stands to any other Vipers brave enough to take me on! (talking to you strat you rocket prat!)
PS: It's amazing how fast Vipers become pirates! LOLOLOL!!
Nerde Verde, M Duncan, Seta Ralel and Millennium Blackhawk always used lotsa energy. To me, those are the only real Vipers. <sigh>, they are missed.

wow. this is funny. from what ive seen, impdavid and chrn maintain a nonstop monologue of trashtalk, both ingame and here, while they gank and grief anyone they can find. the vipers just remain silent and take it. they escort people for free, always are reporting pirates on the 4357 chanel, and kill the pirates. and then they get acused of devolving into dishonor? because some of them use rockets? hahaha.

I stand by what I said, VPR had charismatic leadership that kept the interaction more civil in the past. I don't think the current leadership is vocal enough to be considered charismatic.

I agree VO needs more and better rivalry. I may be mistaken, but it seems that several of the original group that help create CHRN have backed off on the level of in game activity. I can't speak to whether its rl taking up more of their energies or boredom, but my suspicion is boredom. And I do not doubt that we'll start seeing less activity from some others. My point is without an interesting conflict happening people wander off.
What I see happening is the demeaning of groups and individuals by a small number of very vocal people. I may not have the best ears, but the tone with which the trash talk is conducted is often negative and derogatory rather than good natured joking. If you wish to add my trash talk to that description I am not going to argue.
I do know that the atmosphere being generated was the reason I chose the character I returned to active play with, and what my purpose of play would be.
The devs provide the content, but we as players determine the friendliness. I'm perfectly happy either way. I can be civil, and I can be a bastard.
Edit: On a side note, I find it hilarious that Impavid couldn't even last 3 days trading before actively pirating again. Such character :P His rationalization? 'The Fluffy was mean to me'

He's clealy treated as a pirate, even while trading, so why bother being a trader exclusively?

HOWEVER, I didn't say any of the following:
-I'll let you shoot me over and over and enjoy it
-I'll just keep on trying to get past Viprats and everyone else trying to kill me
-I'll only fly trade ships
-I won't take your dumb ass out if you attack me
-I'll trade to the exclusion of all else (I started doing this in the spirit of the bet but it immediately became clear that it simply wasn't possible, as me in an XC is every Viper's wet dream)
-I'll listen and won't respond to all your dumbshit comments "calling me out" on not trading like you think I should (Can't run cargo in a Valk!? Never run a single item to check it's price somewhere else?! Are all traders that Stupid?)
What I find hilarious is that any of you think me losing one challenge (which by the way only two Viper's had the guts to accept) would in any way change who I am. Have you met me?
PS: I've made 47 million thus far trading, despite your sorry attempts to disrupt me. If CHRN had your success rate at piracy, we'd have to disband...

Heh, as if I planned anything so elaborate. I made the challenge because none of the current stock of Vipers can hit anything with energy only, plain and simple. More to the point, they know it so they're not even willing to try, so they've lost twice. Any of the Vipers Shape named earlier wouldn't hesitate to take me up on it.
Alas, the rest of the challenge I am and continue to honor. It doesn't require a contract or three pages of terms. I said I'd trade and Im trading. You'd I'm sure like it to be more, but the ammunition as you call it is not there, so fire your blanks somewhere else hey?
