As Deputy Director of the TGFT GSS (Guild Security Service) I personally offer the following bounties:

Bounty 1: 5 million credits on tumblemonster since he is the most nototious, nasty, and ugliest pirate.

Bounty 2: 1 million credits on eclipsed since he is the newest member of CLM, to show him the error of his ways.

Said boutnies can only be collected in the following manner:

After the completion of Nation Wars on September 13th, an event will be held to claim these bounties in Sedina B-8.
Said Pirates must be killed 5 times out of 10 fights in a fair one on one fight in my presence to claim the bounty.
If noone kills said pirates 5 times out of 10 fights in a fair one on one fight, said pirates claim the bounty.
Fighting period is to be for 45 minutes maximum. Bounty will be paid to the first person to kill said pirates.
If no one challenges said pirates, no bounty will be paid.
Pirates may not kill pirates to claim this bounty.

Following these battles, a call is being put out to all upright citizens of VO to keep possesion of Sedina B-8
from all Pirate Guilds and independent pirates. A 3 million credit award will be given to the player with most
kills after one hour of fighting, after showing proof of kills on this thread (Pirate or Citizen).

Wild Gramps
TGFT, Dau K-10, GSS Headquarters

Copy placed in role playing thread.

Pardon me, but being that you're apparently holding an event that requires my participation, how were you planning to, erm, get me to join in?

(hint: Appearance fee - 8 figures :)

1,5 million for 5 kills?

I'll be holding off on your news item until you get this squared away, jborderman

Well, I am really embrassed that some pirates responded this way. I would have thought they would have wanted to show off that they have really superior fighting skills.

So, therefore, I must declare that this event will not take place.

And, eclipsed since you did not act like these other "pirates" if you will pm me next time you see me in game, I will meet you and give you the 6 million credits since the others defaulted. I also apologize to you eclipsed for even thinking to put a [CLM] pirate in the same class as the other "pirates".

By default, I must stand up and salute Vskye and all the other [CLM] pirates and declare that the only "REAL" pirate guild is [CLM]. As for those pretend to be pirates, who can only camp one wormhole and whose "Valiant" (?) leader can only spam 100, please find something more to do.

Gee, I wish VO allowed us to put skins on our ships so I could paint great big targets on it.

hehe ye are renouncing quite so fast Grampy : )

Instead of doing an event that required consensual pvp (damn what a very bad word)
Why don't ye post yer bounty on station news; Request the murderer to post his logs on a thread in the RP forum.

So ye wont need target cooperation anymore.

PS: 6 millions for killing tumble would be a fairer price.

: )

I reached my role playing objective early thanks to you guys.

So... let's see...

You've run into Tumble and he tells you to give him money for him to go along with what you want to do.

You balk, pick up your three rings circus and head for the hills while calling him names.

I'd say he did a great job of pirating you and you decided to run.

Shoulda paid?

In light of the event being canceled, I am forced to rescind the bounty of 300000 which I placed on my own head after I pirated myself and cost me 1 moth and 140 cu of cargo. However, anyone with information leading to my arrest and conviction should contact me immediately.

Yet another person openly hating on my guild. Makes me sad. I think we should start pro-diversity/tolerance campaign.

..

In the future you might have more success organizing an event if you try to think of the enjoyment and dignity of all intended participants. As it turns out, mandating someone to show up as your human pinata doesn't go over too well. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn't realize that....

Bounties... this brings out memories of good chases and fights.

Good idea to bring up bounties Gramps and I really liked your B8 furball proposal but...
there is nothing civilized and consensual about bounty hunting.
You cannot expect a pirate to show up for your "bounty" event and do a "fair" fights.
You pay a bounty hunter to hunt and destroy pirate. When pirate founds out there is a bounty on his head he will try to use all means necessary to make bounty hunters job hard and try to stay alive.

I remember when that bastid yoda hired famous bounty hunter Mists to hunt me down. It was a blast.
Fun lasted for days, Mists tried hard and died 5 times before he managed to collect his bounty on me. There was nothing consensual about those fights, I was trying to get out alive and he was trying to collect bounty, civilized yes, because Mists hailed with his bounty hunter message every time he managed to catch me in some sector.
Mists earned his reward at the end but at a cost because I gave him very hard time and... we all had great fun.

Why am I telling you this?
Because it is a good RP idea and you can make it work without organizing a special event.
Post bounties in station news, post B-8 trader blockades in station news.
Pirates will get hunted for bounties and everyone will come to participate in your B8 blockades on both sides.
Do not throw away a good RP idea, it could provide good content and fun.

Shoulda paid?

That was a good laugh!

TGFT: The only guild capable of getting pirated without even leaving the station.

He,he,he I sure suceeded in stirring the pirates up. And should perhaps note that impavid has never actually pirated me. And we did have a furball with the pirates in B-8 last Saturday. 6 pirates to Strat [VPR], [TGFT] Wild Gramps, and [TGFT] tsreknor. I never expected to win in that battle at all BUT low and behold impavid died at my hands twice!! And by the way, TGFT does trade in Grey Space and our biggest danger is [CLM] not [CHRN]. I hope this little exercise hightened the awareness of a need for more people to take on the B-8 Sector Sitters. We may not be the best fighters right now, but TGFT is getting better. And we die a lot in the process, but that is called learning. The really nice thing about being a trader is that I have a whole big universe to fly about it in and do things in and rarely see any pirates except [CLM].

Now my real objective in all this was to try to give the Vet players an event to do so that maybe just maybe we could keep them in the game. I agree it became borked, not because of me but because of the "pirates" (??) who refused to really consider anyone else but their own egos.

I will think some more about this and devise an event that has better participation without the "pirates" (??). Maybe, just maybe, they will find something better to do in the game than sector sitting.

I congratulate you for attempting to provide an entertaining event for everyone, jborderman. Some of us do appreciate such efforts.
Sep 08, 2009 Impavid link
You planned an event that was designed to demean me or challenge me or something incomprehensible (You're almost as eloquent a writer as the Fluffy, and he's awful) but you didn't consider actually asking me to participate. Had you PMed me in game and said "hey I have this idea would you be game?" I would have said "sure sounds fun" and we'd be fine. Instead you posted it and assumed I'd show up because my name was in the credits and I'd take it as an affront or something, while your stated intention was to rile me up. Sounds like a very positive game event for everyone... :/ Further, you and others like you still don't understand what we're all about, which is having fun pirating. We're completely unbothered by your ill considered and frankly lame attempts to "rile us up". You're so unsophisticated that you think my replying with these comments means you've scored another victory (OMG I killeded impavid twice!) when in fact this silly thing has occupied about 2 minutes of my time and has effected CHRN to the cost of 3 lines or so of guild chat that we'll never get back.
Sep 08, 2009 Pointsman link
When you do not respond to relaxed critiques of your event, and instead blame those who you were relying on inconveniencing for impinging on general game enjoyment, it looks more like you real intentions were more in the order of shamefully manipulative slander.

I wasn't kidding about pro-diversity/tolerance.
Sep 08, 2009 Death Fluffy link
You are kidding about the pro-diversity/tolerance thing right Pointsman?

Are do you not yet get that my whole activity of late has been for no other purpose but to repay the favors that have been continuously handed out by Impavid and Peytros on 100 demeaning certain guilds, players and playing styles? Or are they just role playing when they go on a rant about how TGFT is ruining the game, but I'm douche because I'm posting "hate" messages about CHRN on the forums? I'm all for friendly trash talk, but what I've been seeing and responding to I consider toxic.

You talk about people hating your guild. I am not one of them. I think some of your members can be quite enjoyable to interact with, and I pointed that out in my thread. There is a point at which I no longer tolerate and begin to reciprocate. As I said elsewhere, if you guys want a hostile playing environment, I'm game.

Edit: That being said, I am not even anti tumble. He has been in some very good discussions here on the forums in which if I have posted, my posts were intended to be constructive to the subject discussed. He has also been in some fairly intelligent discussions on 100 during which I have not interrupted. I think he brings a good perspective to Vendetta. I will not however be bullied into playing VO on his or CHRN's terms, nor am I putting up with any of the negativity.
