Pirates robbing Pirates?
Does this happen allot or is there some "inner pirate code" that stops people from robbing other robbers? Just curious.
There are numbers of pirates of no consequence, and pirates of consequence sometimes have little patience for them.
Just because you claim to be a pirate does not obligate any other pirate to forward you any courtesy.
The practiced pirate code has very close ties to the law of the gun.
I can not tell you the number of times I have seen a pilot in a moth that thought they should be immune to gun fire because of their claimed status in grey. A moth is a moth, and they all blow up the same, even if they are driven by tumblemonster, look no hands or maalic.
Then again, I am not a pirate, so perhaps you should ask someone else.

It depends.
One thing I'll say about pirates: we never shy away from paying for passage when asked by someone who we know can quickly reduce our moth to an expanding cloud of cargo widgets and scrap.

from my understanding blitz wants to be a pirate but some other pirates told him he can't just play for 2 days and newb it up in grey so they gave him a lesson the hard way.
You prevent this by splitting the profit with the other pirate who wants to shoot your moth. But that's only assuming that the only place a moth is seen being flown by a pirate is when they're hauling away the cargo from another trader or a downed convoy, if you're getting your profit anything else then you're not a pirate... just free game. If you're a newbie aspiring to be a pirate who just needs the proc missions for Corvus reputation then just pay. Consider it a token of good will.
As for a pirate seeing another pirate's scavenging moth and deciding to pirate it, that's generally frowned upon. If that pirate is simply misinformed then I might offer to split my profit with em.

Chaakin Tockoa

Well, sometimes there's a good reason, Chaak. I haul moth loads of Gauss III into Sedina D14, or bunchs of UC batteries/AAPs/Hive Posis/Laws into Odia M14 for my Hound builds.
If you're doing that, though, you should be prepared to pay.
If you're some random noob, you'd better be able to converse intelligently and take instruction easily. If that's the case, maybe you'll find a pirate mentor at a fairly early stage. If, however, you come across as someone who's going to be annoying to deal with, we're probably just going to shoot you dead until you leave Grey.

heh, yea my moths were dieing in droves a week ago during a furball, actually managed to do some damage with them, and not using swarms either. Whatever happened to the moth wars?
I don't think I've had any pirates come after my scavenging moth in at least 2 years, I think the last pirate who did was jollyrogeryarr. I've had some traders and vipers come after my scavenging moths, with mixed results at best. And then theirs the occasional lets all try and get the same lump of miscelanous cargo in d14 rumble, those are fun, we should make an event out of it.
