As should be expected...

We managed to hold the station pretty much the whole time I played today (other than when the 2 turrets were unable to be found - that was kind of funny when I first figured it out, but got annoying really fast.)

Maalik, if the alt you speak of was the one I killed, it was because one of the evil station raiders was too close to you when he fired at me and blew me up. May I suggest hiding in the docking bay of a station under siege is not a good place to be?

OK the station has been freed once again. Anyone who wants access need but ask. :)

Growlor: You weren't being belligerent. Others were.

Maalik, your alt was on the TGFT KOS list (scary place to be I know!) long before CHRN existed or you turned to the dark side. I don't recall him making a public denouncement of his previous piratical ways, so please don't get butt-hurt (to quote one of your colleagues) that he got shot at. I know hyprocrisy and misinformation are the CHRN watchwords, but I kind of hoped you were above all that.

Was probably the most fun I've ever had on VO! Great update!

I killed 40+ defense turrets today... literally. I wasn't opposed at all, nobody killed me. Nobody was actually defending, all I saw were people killing their own final turret and reconquering the station to reset all the turrets over and over and over.

I know you're all complaining about how hard it is to stop bombers but seriously... a few tips:
1) You can try.

2) Get a group member with a repair gun, failed bomber runs that only leave the turrets scratched are all too common and a few repair ships are essential to keeping defenses up. When we (CHRN) were holding the station the night of the update we had an upwards of three experienced rag bombers trying to take out our turrets, they never got them below numbers of 6 because of our combination of repair ships and interceptors.

3) Have a scout to mark out where most of the bombers are coming in, this will give your interceptors a crucial head start when the bombers enter. You can't just all crowd around the station and complain that you can't reach the bombers in time.

4) Shoot the fucking bombers. If energy is a problem then man up and equip a Heavy Power Cell. The only disadvantages of Heavy Power Cells for combat usage are jumping and warp (you are doing neither in this case). A dual N2 heavy cell interceptor with 60/s energy drain can kill a Sky Prom with full health without letting go of turbo. Fighter-interceptors chew up rags better than rags chew up turrets, you just need to use them right.

5) Be creative. This does not include sitting in the dock all day. If you have an excess of players in your group (which anti-rats usually do, I'm afraid) have a few group members experiment! One of the advantages of defenders is that they can lay mine fields, you can start with that perhaps.

I'm aiding enemy tactics databases in this case because I want to play the goddamn game. Coming back after an r/r to find out that the defenders killed their own final turret and docked during a lull in the fighting is not what I call fun, and I seriously hope it's not fun for the defenders. Get bomber defense right and it becomes a freaking turkey shoot for the defending team. Yesterday I had just as many player kills thanks to bomber intercepting as I did defense turrets, today.

Edit: and "Johnny Pies," Maalik's just having fun, lmao, calm down. There's a TGFT KoS list? Wow... I guess I didn't notice because nobody was killing me on sighting you guys are terrible, play the game.

Chaak, I don't know if you've noticed, (I know Ardenus isn't sure), but we're a trade and mining guild. Our KOS list exists first and foremost to inform our members of who is likely to be gunning for them and secondly, to tell the more belligerent of us who we should be shooting if we so desire. After all, Hortan is hardly likely to turn his mining beams on the first rat he sees. I'm sorry we don't "play the game" by your rules. Maybe you should publish the CHRN rulebook for Vendetta so we can all have a good laugh.

If Maalik was only trying to be playful, then I apologise to him. However, I grow weary of the negative proganda that spews from your certain areas of your guild, and reserve the right to comment on it from time to time.

P.S. I don't need to calm down. This is an RP forum. Why can't I roleplay an angry trader?

Itan fought along side ONE, VPR, TGFT, et al. the majority of the time I was there.

That's fairly embarrassing for both ONE and Itan.
Jan 24, 2010 Dr. Lecter link
These guys don't RP. They're "traders" who would sooner die and lose millions of credits than pay a reasonable passage fee. They're "Serco nationals" who'd rather suck Niki off while getting assfucked by Estrogen than work with Serco who also happen to be pirates. They're Itani who ... well, as Itani, they're supposed to behave that way.

You cannot expect them to be embarrassed by anything.
Jan 24, 2010 Maalik link
Well, mimic stopped pirating a while ago, and I had previously informed VPR of this. VPR had told me that they took him off their KOS list but seemed pretty happy to not propagate this fact yesterday even though I kept pleading for them to do so. I kept asking the TGFT why he was shooting me but I never got a very good answer. "Because you aren't in my group" was the best I could get. Of course, asking to be let into the group after this was met with silence.

Update: Nahin Lor murders mimic outside the station too.
Update: I went to I8 to mine some denic, cause that's a good ore, but Nahin Lor and Mistena Kosmel repeated killed my mining ship and stole my ore.

Poor rats... held station for a few hours and want to claim something... It's their Islas Malvinas, but station remained last DAYS under Allied Forces...

Best name so far is BETA station. Or Falklands... ;)

Yeah... this struck me as odd too. Perhaps the war is over!

An arabic proverb states:

-Me against my brother;
-Me and my brother against our family;
-Me and my family against our town;
-Me and my town against the kingdom;
-Me and my kingdom against the world!

If the shivans invaded Vendetta's systems, you can be sure that serco, itani, UIT and rats would fight side by side. While no bigger threat raises, lets fight our neighbours. Until Beta station raises and reunite former enemies against rats threat.
Jan 25, 2010 ShankTank link
Yeah, too bad Serco and Itani aren't in the same kingdom. Lmao.

When the "Serco-Itani Cease-Fire" thread from 2003 was resurrected I didn't expect anyone to take it seriously! x_x
Jan 26, 2010 peytros link
really the serco itani conflict is supposed to be the focus of the game its just that all the serco and itani players who aren't pirates are all little girls afraid to shoot eachother.

oh and its not beta station its acherons gate get it right newbs.
