Basic Rules
Only those who are on-time are allowed to participate.
Participants must be on their nation's team unless they can make a claim to be unaligned in which case they may choose to fight for Grey.
Valkyries, Teller-Ulam mines, and pet bots are not allowed.
You may not start fighting until the host signals the start of the battle.
You may not return to the battle sector after you have left except to observe from a healthy distance in a bus.
No running from the asteroid field.
The last team standing wins.

Now this was some good old fun for me. Thank you guys, i enjoyed it. Was surprises to see a few other old players in there (Niki, Iry).

Next time i'll be better and the fight after that i'll whoop yer asses ;-)

I'm sorry I wasn't there for the valk-free NWs. If I have time next week (I'll be at a family reunion, but who knows what will be possible) I will try to attend the next NW and fly a prom, just to see what's it's like in the current valk-heavy climate.

There will be more valk-free NWs. Just not next week. I think we are obligated to pit the new SVGs against Valkyries at least once.

I've had more fun without valks.

IMHO, I still believe the SVG's advantages in thrust and armor simply don't cut it compared to the much more available CorVult's 10m/s bonus in speed during actual combat. The SVG is now a better intercepter, but once it gets there...

Solra Bizna and I once pitted the CorVult against the SVG in 1v1 combat. I was first in the SVG, and out of 5 fights won once. We swapped ships, and I won every fight afterward in the CorVult. I believe the SVG still needs minor improvements to make it worth the haul to grey, since grey is still the most active PvP area.

It's worth testing all the same to see if anything surprises us.

What did you think of the valkless NW, Nahin? What did everyone who was there think?

I thought there was a lot more fighting, and a lot less running. I wouldn't mind keeping valks out of the NW until something is changed/fixed, such as one of Ghost's fixes.

the previous nation consisted of less running, but only because there were less participants and a wider range of different ships.

however in this nation war, after the two serco proms were destroyed, everyone (not excluding me here) reverted back to the usual running around and waiting for opportunities to hit someone.
this didn't last as long as it would have with everyone flying valks, but we really had the same situation as before and didn't change anything at all.

edit: oh i should say that i don't mind running around at all, but i thought that was what everyone is complaining about. so i just wanted to state that it really didn't change..
