I usually have a video of any nation war I am in, but failed to video this one. I had issues with Orion not letting me equip a sunflare, cos I suck. Shame really, as I can shoot these video's at 1080p now >.>

Oh yeah, and roid rollin actually is a neat tactic now!

Another crappy NW that I didn't want to go to because valks arent allowed.\
If you really care about the matter you should try to breath life back into Valkyrie adjustment threads in Suggestions. Incarnate said that he was open to tweaking them. It's ridiculous how overpowered they are in group combat, and, in any case, NWs have been more fun without them.
Well, if the valks are let back in after they are tweaked then I will not participate in NW then either. I don't want them tweaked and I don't want them banned. Either happening makes me not want to participate. However, if you guys are having fun...more power to you.

I had much more fun when valks were allowed... third port gave a wider choice of setups, more armour, bigger target, etc...
yea but then you ended up having valks just run forever
bigger target
This is the Valk's fault. The X-1 is much smaller, however, and therefor does not have any large faults. It's too good. Otherwise, valks ftw, and I would support Jmvcilus (though the X-1/vengeace still need an engine nerf).

Marauders have a third port...
just saying.
just saying.
Valks aren't overpowered in group combat, IBG's are just as deadly if not more so.
IBGs have the same mass, less ports (less versatility; a valk doesn't need to use the third port), paper-thin armor (4k less for goodness' sake), and a similar price. IBGs are 5 m/s slower than most valks and use 5 more energy per second to turbo. I believe they have less thrust and spin torque, which is critical if the valk doesn't use it's third port. Their only saving quality is a low profile.
I second lord-spidey's opinion. IBG's are just as deadly if not more, thanks to a lower profile and higher combat speed (excellent at backrolling).
Hence forth all IBG's should be banned from nation war!! Better yet, only standard ships that every noob has access too should be allowed in nation war. And while you're at it, calling it nation war doesn't seem right when nation-specific ships are going to be banned.
I suggest nation war is renamed "Sunday Time super Fun carebear dance Up"

I flew a Rev C in the this NW, found it ace for running, cool when combat closed in around me, but its paper thin armour soon showed it's colours. It's not that different from the IBG, and a good few shots will waste one. Not so with any Valk.
I was not aware that the Valk was banned from the NW though, and that's prolly why I lasted as long as I did.

At the risk of starting a new argument, the debate in suggestions has made me realize that it's the mechanic that's broken, not the ship. The way group combat works in vendetta, mobility is by far the most powerful asset. The valk is the most mobile ship, so it seems broken. But there will always be a most mobile ship. What we need to fix is the mechanic that makes the most mobile ship overpowered instead of just making the most mobile ship less mobile.
I've just realised something! It's not the wheel rubbing against the road that drives the car forward, but the road rubbing against the wheel!
We must repave all of the nation's highways with something that pushes better!
We must repave all of the nation's highways with something that pushes better!
On that line that Valk is not overpowered and game mechanic is, then all we need to do is creating something REALLY armoured for serco, and with forward-firing auto-turrets. Same shield and armour of a trident on the size and manouvreability of a Prometheus...
I don't like to level down. But no doubt something have to be done, or Nation Wars will become Valk Races...
Alternatives already proposed:
1) More group combat tools / formation indicator
2) Improved Prometheus, with a turret
3) Improved Vulture / Centurion / Others
4) Nerf Valks: Armour, speed, etc.
New idea: Player-operated Tridents would balance properly the Valks...
All this lead me to consider another approach would be player-owned heavy ships, with light shields.
And, more "wide" thinking, shields should be re-thinked. Like, create a Lport weapon specialized in tearing shields, but make shield be resistent to all Sport weapons.
From FreeSpace implementation, Most weapons either does high damage to shield, or to hull; The weapons that affects both are only able to moderate damage. And against shielded capships the fighters are almost useless, so makes sense using bombers, and their specialized weapon.

REALLY armoured for serco
Already done.
forward-firing auto-turrets
Ridiculous.
shield and armour of a trident and manouvreability of a Prometheus
The most unbalanced proposition I've ever heard/read.
The rest of your post covers what we've already covered and proposes changing several elements of VO completely, which could take weeks or more of work. I'm not a dev, but anyone can see it would be far too long term if we even decided to do it. We need something that can be implimented as soon as possible, and something that does not require a lot of work, because the devs are already busy.
Sorry Alloh, but it's just not there.

OMG... Plonker of Borg in Rev C, that brings some very old memories.
Maybe I should come back to see this for myself...

Just put the SCP back like it was two nerfs ago. Problem solved.
But that's way too simple and sensible for VO.
