This is a post to structure the discussion surrounding EMS Fiamma Azzurra and the use of trident turrets in EMS.

It has been suggested that because the trident is an EMS one, it should be restricted to shield/rep turrets.

Given that there is one capstation in Vendetta and that I've completed multiple contracts/jobs (regicides and the like) without docking at M7, we will not be adopting a shields only policy at this time. I am not going back to M7 to get gems every time someone wants to do a hive skirm or break a queen.

Further, many if not all of the allegations of corruption and favoritism are based on prejudice towards my former guild associations.

Those who suggest my choice of clients is also biased would do good to know that I have not been offered a single credit for any other job besides sector repairs with La Familia.

I am also of the firm belief that the argument that reps in a trident are any different from those with a repair module is irrelevant to the question of neutrality. The fact that one can hide from an enemy in an EMS trident is no different than if an enemy hides in an escort trident or another trident or a station. If you shoot the trident, the trident's gunners shoot back. This is a simple part of the game, and the same thing will occur if you open fire on EMS Fiamma Azzura if it is manned by your enemies. If this happens to you, your only recourse is to hire the trident next time so that you can be the one with docking privileges, or go build your own trident.

Lastly, and most importantly, the purpose of constructing the trident was to bring additional fun into the game by having large pvp cappie battles etc... If you try and ruin that fun for others by aggressively hunting down the trident when it is clearly no threat to you and not on contract, EMS amnesty does not apply, and you will be refused all services in the future.

I will not be discussing this on 100 further. The trident type M is a unique service offered by EMS. It should be treated as such even if that means not conforming to your romantic notion of EMS. If the unprovoked attacks continue I will discontinue my service permanently.

The minute you're hired by FAMY and support them in combat operations against anyone except bots, you become a target, even with that bullshit EMS tag or not.

There is differences.... Escort Tridents move on and don't stick around, repairing those chosen to be allowed in.

No, I'm happy to be attacked, because clients that hire me for dangerous combat operations pay at least 15mil + 10mil insurance overhead if the trident is destroyed. Which is fine.

But after the contract ends it apparently a tradition to ensure that I don't get back to m7 safely. It is unreasonable to ask my clients to pay when they are not around to have any say in the matter, which is my point about neutrality. Outside contract I am not your enemy. I have no problem is someone managed to blow me up on a dangerous contract, but if i continue to be attacked alone in peaceful journeys to help other players with regicides/get back to the garage, I will not continue my trident services.

Seems pretty simple to me. The Smurf Alliance doesn't want pirates to have access to tridents. Cries foul when we buy access, but are unwilling or don't have the foresight to do the same.

Red's policy seems very fair and impartial.

As a smurf, I see nothing wrong with EMS (a neutral guild) giving access of to services to any who request or require them, even to pirates or ONE. That said, should EMS provide those services, they shouldn't be surprised if they become the target of their client(s) enemy/enemies for the duration of the contract.

Those hostilities should end when the contract ends though.

I don't have a problem with you hiring your ship out to the highest bidder. The problem I have is your expectation of being able to claim neutrality when it is convenient. We all would like to be able to say I am not engaged in hostilities don't shoot me, unfortunately the game is not set up that way. The way your system works we have to wait until your ship fires first to know that you are no longer neutral and then stop firing on your ship when you say you are no longer under contract and you wonder why people might have a problem with that. I haven't heard any of the other Trident owners complaining about being shot at.

First of all, I would like to point out that I did not give TheRedSpy a mandate to leave EMS. That was a choice he made on his own. While I understand his reasons for leaving, I would not say that the tensions caused by the trident were unresolvable.

Official EMS policy for any tridents in the future will be that a trident's turrets are not to be used to fire on other players. This means that the pilot would have to take responsibility for the crew and revoke the docking rights of anyone not able to comply with this policy.

I suggested that loading turret port addons that are only usable for defense like Shield Turrets would be a good idea.

I did not leave because I had a problem with trident turrets being used to fire on other players. In truth there were maybe 1 or 2 shots fired that were aimed at a player, after which they were told to stop or be kicked. ARF_01 is my witness.

The allegations that they were used to frequently fire upon traders were contrived by players who had a problem with me being in [EMS] period. As evidence i point to pilsbury's post and the use of the phrase "bullshit EMS tag". This is not the first time I'd heard it.

I did not share Chocolateer's confidence that the tensions were unresolvable. Even during the discussions we were having regarding this decision, I came under attack from a greifer alt using a "trident buster" outfit that I saw being discussed on 100 earlier that day by senior members of VPR.

Members of the Vendetta community made it crystal clear to me that they would not accept me offering my services and they would regularly go out of their way to boycott me. I would not ask any of you to attempt to operate in that kind of environment.

People had a problem with me being an EMS, not with how turrets were used or who I contracted out to or when I was on contract or not.

Furthermore, they felt the need to abuse my position as an EMS. If you chased any other trident pilot in the manner that i was, you would be obliterated instantly with a TU mine and you would quickly learn that tridents are not worth chasing. Instead I had to waste my time dodging sectors while people went on EMS hunts with absolutely no consequences from EMS or their commanding guild officers.

I was NOTHING but an exemplary member of EMS trying to put my hard work to the benefit of the community and the thanks I got was aggression, rejection and sabotage. Shame on you all.

I am shocked and appalled at the way I was treated in EMS. Upon leaving I made it crystal clear to Chocolateer that he would have my trident at his guilds disposal as the no.1 priority, I just couldn't continue to fly under my so-called "bullshit EMS tags"

I put six weeks of hard organisation and effort into building my trident, and this is my reward.

The rest of my vendetta days will be spent in TRI, where I will provide my trident building expertise to those who actually deserve it.

Is the fact that he was authorised to do so supposed to be reassuring? He was on 100 actively promoting ways to attack me, I don't care if he actually did or did not create an alt. We have no proof either way. VPR should be ashamed of their behaviour.

Heh, VPR be ashamed? Right. Maybe in a universe where it is okay for EMS turrets to be used offensively, a VPR might be ashamed about something. Not in this one.

VPR are just pirates who ride high horses. I've sat in the sector and watched them pirate innocent people. Remember, a viper is a snake. Who was it who convinced Eve to eat that fruit, resulting in YHWH cursing all women to suffer excruciating pain during childbirth? Who was it who brought deadly pain to billions upon billions of our women? The snake.

Could it possibly be that the guy who grossly over-punished a young couple (and billions of their innocent unborn descendants) for doing a single wrong, when he had forbidden them from even knowing right and wrong, is really the one to blame?

So there you have it. Either VPR is the enemy, or God is the enemy. Or perhaps both.
