Epic Itani Victory in Deneb - Against all odds!

Apr 13, 2012 greenwall link
Last night Bluewall(*corrected) carried the hallowed blue flag to victory in an epic solo struggle against all odds in the large border skirmish in Deneb L-16.

Keria Willenium, Starbuck, The Central Scrutinizer, Dirty 'oRe, Bromok and Vedrit Mathias all failed in their effort to subvert Greenwall's efforts.

The Itani Military continues to show its superiority in the border skirmishes with week after week of overwhelming victories, and thus allowing the blockade in Ukari to remain intact.

if anything...I think this demonstrates the imbalance in Deneb.

the only imbalance is that we have stations within one jump, and they have two jumps. Otherwise it's completely balanced. When you have plenty of capships to reload in and overwhelming PC numbers, the only imbalance was on the blue side in this situation. And it was heroically overcome, if I don't mind saying so myself. *pats himself on the back*

I have to agree with greenwall on that; when you have that many serco against a single smurf, the station issue is not going to make that big of a difference. I'm assuming of course that those serco listed were active at the same time though, not one by one showing up after the previous one gave up.

the key problem here (pay attention serco im about to give you a tip) is that when they (serco, ONE specifically) start a bombing run they just stay on course and never waiver no matter what is shooting at them, in Ukari A10 defending the connie from 5 serco attackers i managed to kill 4 of them during their bombing run with a swarm blast at each one.... That shouldn't have worked!

the key is to move out of the way.

Staying with the subject... The battle took 18h 22m 7, so likely a good part of it was unattended by any player.

Bluewall had 5 kills, 3 of them players, 2 NPCs, 11 assists, 3 PK assists, 403 casualty assists.

Serco players contributed to over 100 casualties and over 1000 casualty assists.

I think the credit goes to the Itani AI.

The last Large Skirm battle I attended had some silly Serco AI stuff going on. For instance, SMV killing another SMV, one of the Serco Constellations jumping in the battle 25km away from the main force (it was happily fighting the Itani Teradon assigned to kill it). The neatest thing was a Serco HAC and Serco Constellation running into each other while sandwiching an Itani Trident.

Have a fine Serco ale for a fine Serco day,

Ok, first of all ye can't speak to the battle unless you were there.

Second of all, ask Keria, Starbuck, TCS or Dirty 'oRe and they will all confirm we battled alongside each other from the "beginning", meaning we started with ~1500 points on either side and a full array of capships. Vedrit joined at the end and Bromok played most of the time, but they are both newbs. Despite that, three experienced serco such as K S and TCS should have been able to pwn me. But they didn't. Though 'tis a battle they'd soon want to forget so I wouldn't be surprised if their cybernetic implants have been wiped already.

Third of all, stats don't tell the whole story. I have crappy kill numbers because I kept getting booted from the mission due to friendly fire kills (common when using avalons). I had the great misfortune of doing so right before any of the large cappies blew up, so I didn't get any of their numbers.

Stop trying to steal my thunder! I don't lie -- see FAMY for that.

I don't know if you lie, but I do know Commander Arf does. I wouldn't have believed it, but I saw it happen. I don't remember the details now, but it was something along the lines of trying to claim that nobody had killed Baekma, when I could see via the group announcements that somebody in my group had killed him.

So as far as I'm concerned, Itan only ranks a notch higher than Famy on my trustworthiness meter.

I don't have any reason to not believe your claims in this thread, however.

Of course... while all this was happening, the baby eating space nazi Tani scum were routed in Gray space and sent running.

I can confirm the mission requirements make it impossible to use the only effective anti-cap weapon in the game, due to the pants-on-head retarded penalties for FF kills. An avalon run on a cap almost always splashes one friendly ship (because their AI is retarded and sits there shooting at a fully shielded cappie), and usually more like two.

Devs: NPC rags should stack their crap against shielded caps and immediately turn around for the nearest friendly cap to R&R for another run. No NPC non-cap ship should be firing energy at anything with its shields still up. All the current AI does is (1) make it fucking impossible for players to play the most vital role in the battle by de-shielding enemy cappies, and (2) ensure that NPC fighters/bombers are constantly being ground up by opposing cap ies for no good Goddamn reason.

+1 Lecter.

Time for a shower, I suppose.

Not to mention bombers seem to try killing my SVG which makes no sense. And I mean every mission I have bombers coming after me for some weird reason.

As far as the battle goes, I can't say much to it's validity. I was out of town all day, and that wouldn't have happened if my crew was there.
May 24, 2012 Dr. Lecter link
Yeah, they don't seem to have much targeting discipline. Of course, neither do the Goddamn cappies. Border battles would become 10000% less frustrating if I could just issue "/attack "my target" commands to the various caps, because as it stands now they are usually not doing what makes the most sense...concentrating all fire on the weakest or most dangerous opponent first.

uh this battle was over a month ago, prior to RED existing. Though, even if they did exist, I would have pwned them too.
