As of 4440-05-09, Rin Ganborro is no longer asking for payment from trade vessels which are not known to be empty. If you are flying such a ship when Mr. Ganborro enters the sector, have not paid in advance, and desire to pay a ransom for your ship and life, you should contact Mr. Ganborro immediately, preferably before he opens fire. He is still asking for payment from non-trade ships and trade ships which are known to be empty. Payments made while flying such ships will still convey protection while flying a loaded trade vessel, barring the new exception below.
Starting immediately, the standard 100k payment to Rin Ganborro for safe passage no longer covers ships conveying goods which Mr. Ganborro, in his sole discretion, feels are worth more than 500k credits. Henceforth, coverage of such a ship will require a payment of 1 million credits, whether or not the 100k plan was already purchased. The 1 million credit plan will cover any ships carrying cargo worth up to 5 million credits, for a period of 24 hours. Purchasing the 1 million credit plan while a previous 100k plan is already active will reset the safe passage timer to 24 hours from the time the transaction is recorded in Mr. Ganborro's ledger. The safe passage times to not stack.
Pilots who desire protection for ships carrying cargo valued at more than 5 million credits, or who would like to purchase a multi-day plan, should contact Rin Ganborro personally to negotiate a custom plan.
Pilots who have lost cargo due to not having the correct policy may be allowed to reclaim said cargo if they promptly arrange to purchase the correct policy. This is done solely at Mr. Ganborro's discretion, however, and he may decline to offer this service for any reason. He may also require the payment of additional storage, transport, and/or defense fees in order to ensure that the cargo is safely returned. Failure to pay any accrued fee will result in irrevocable confiscation of cargo.
