Not to name any names (I'm sure they'll make themselves known for guilt sake).. but bringing a Trident to battle and then logging it out before it dies is pretty cowardly. Funny I've only seen this done by one particular guild. A guild that has a policy against cowardice go figure..

You saw me come back in a maud before you ran away so how did i "log out" and not "fly to m7 for repairs, ask my buddies if they wanted a dent or fighter and they said fighter so I came back in a maud" instead?

OH NO! Someone used a game mechanic to their advantage to save them some trouble in the future and it didn't change the outcome of the current situation! Actually logging your dent is perfect strategy and usage of "game mechanics". That is if you consider the act of logging out of the game as "part of the game". Of course I named no names and yet guilt has a way of making some "dogs" bark.

Found this on a certain guilds website:

1. No Running From Consensual Duels
* If you start a fight, finish it
* If you run out of ammo, die with dignity and next time bring energy. It was your choice to fight with ammo not theirs
* If you die (and you will eventually), don't be surprised and don't whine!

Under this rule your Trident is destined to die every time you take it out for a cruise because multiple people will always fight tridents (therefore the fight never ends).

I recommend adding the following clause to your policy:

2. No allowing tridents to die.
* If your trident is near death in a battle YOU started and BOASTED about on ch100 then it is necessary to log out and pretend you didn't.
* If you die, you should be ashamed because this should never happen.
* Rule no. 1 is null and void if your in a trident.

On that note.. have you ever seen one explode?

Honestly change your policy.. some people have come to expect a certain kind of behaviour from certain guilds and I don't think your emulating the behaviour you post on your website.

Or maybe you just fear the combined might of AAU and FAMY?... I dunno... you should probably be glad we are not allied (which would require us to come to each other's aid).

You realise that Itan defines a 'Consensual Duel' as one that begins with /duel invite.

Nobody in their right mind is going to /duel you with a Trident.

I've only witnessed one trident log out under fire, that was Espionage. But I don't attribute that to anything other than that he probably had to leave the game for some reason, he could have lasted another 20 minutes against the ill-equiped ship I was using.

No need to log off when using a trident, I've found there is plenty of time to run away when carrying important cargo. I take chances when I feel like it and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. We had a hellova good battle in i8 the other night and I lost one. If I never lost one I wouldn't be testing limits. Plus it makes Harkin so happy to shoot at me, and after all, it's all about making Harkin happy.

I have to amend my earlier statement...

Last night during a battle in i8 I went in with my trident and went straight after Wing Commander R, another trident, ignoring all others, letting my allies deal with them. Lots of shooting around the station, great fun. We were both taking lots of damage but I was slightly winning. Then sometime after WCR was below 40% of hull, LOGOFF! It made me sad. I hope Harkin didn't get sad.

So Munny I'm curious, if every member of AAU already attacks me on sight, how will you step this up? How many pirates can you hire, there is not an unlimited supply, and 95% of them already attack me on sight. Will I notice a 5% pirate attack increase? Dunno.

You went to the ITAN forums and basically talked in circles, I think doing your best to fail at diplomacy to keep everyone fighting. I am a bit curious as to what excuses you will come up with next. You are close to getting the "this is getting old" statement from me, not because you're winning anything but because you are rapidly approaching 'boring', which sometimes manifests itself in text as "this is getting old."
