Hi TA Here,
I wanted to ask the developers a question. I was hoping that EMS might be able to really take the lead on being seen as what we are, rather what we could be. I think it's safe to say all our guild members are always about helping all those who would like to start VO. I know there is a contention of players who quit because they don't know VO. I would like to ask VO developers if we can become the offical help folks of vo. I believe we do a grea deal more than we are doing if we had Developer support. Simply an aknowledgement that we are who we are in the training would be grand. I welcome thoughts. We've always been a small but dedicated group. But we'd like to help more and be even more dedicated.

I don't support any ascension of EMS above normal guild status.
If EMS is going to be recognized by the developers in training materials the same should occur for the nationalist guilds who individually help and establish more regular players than EMS anyway.
It's a silly idea, EMS isn't special.

+1 for intention, but -1 for special EMS treatment in the training sequence. I think that's a bad idea more because nobody reads the training stuff anyway, beyond what is necessary to click through things. More words mean more people leaving early because they are bored.
Alternatively, perhaps putting up regular news posts would be a way of getting the word about about your guild?

+1 OP but also +1 TRS
Maybe it would be good if guilds get the opportunity to send some sort of message to selected new players, e.g. RED could send an invitation to join to any serco on reaching combat 3, EMS could send an offer to help out to any player leaving training, etc. The message should be moderated to prevent abuse, and maybe be restricted somehow* to prevent small or inactive guilds to clog the tubes, but this could help (1) EMS (and others) reach out to new players, (2) make the game seem more interactive for new players, (3) without giving developer blessing to a specific guild.
[*) maybe require that a specific public channel is available to contact the guild, and require that that channel be above a certain activity threshold and/or only send the message if a registered guild member is actually listening to that channel]

+1...if EMS is more active...and also 1 advise for Weasy ...and anyone else ...for mentoring or find new players ...docked to Dau L-10 and stay there....
-1. Absolutely not. EMS are awesome for what they do, but they should not get any special treatment.
+1 to TRS
+1 to authorize the little green man enterin' trainin' sectors to tutor and enlighten the newbs.
You obviously meant for this to auto-post on April 1, 2014 and then suffered some kind of system glitch.
Sorry, Tirish: -1
Well-intentioned as it may be, it is not the developers' place nor responsibility to promote, endorse, or even judge player guilds (unless they are, as a guild, breaking the EULA or ROC). It is up to you (EMS collectively) to create a presence and maintain a reputation among the player base. Play, recruit, train, and talk it up on Ch 1, 100, and the RP forum. Host events. I hate advert/spambots, but Ninjr did it right with his scripted announcements whenever he logged in. Get the word out: EMS is there to help.

I like the idea of nationalist guilds having more of an impact - like, we more or less represent our respective nation's military. An advertisement in the training sector would be nice.
if you want to advertise in the training sector, make a new alt and never leave it, and hope you are in the same instance as all the real newbs. Otherwise, park in the Capitol station and advertise over system chat like the FAMY bot does in Dau (God, I can't believe I'm promoting that idea!). If you add an advert for any guild then you have to offer them to all, and I'll tell you: there are probably more people like me who ran from the aggressive recruiters that signed up.
The trouble is EMS isn't as big as we used to be.
We aren't always on. I think I need to snag ninjr's script.
What I would like to see is it easier to get mentor points. Like maybe increasing the mentor rank limit.
If ninjr stops playing uc's stop coming to the game. He's one of the very few left that can purchase them.
I have been working towards it. But it's a long way coming I only have 5 mentor points.....
also Tirish is still active O_o
awesome

Yeah I think you guys just end up playing at totally different times so you never see each other.
FAMY bot does in Dau (God, I can't believe I'm promoting that idea!)
As long as you don't mention a certain bot with alleged 'classiness', otherwise I would be obligated to MURDER you.
And I hate doing bad things to nice people.

Wrong. NPC convoys haul UCs. I have hundreds stockpiled, every single one stolen. I've never bought one from a player or station. And this is something anybody can do, even newbs. No need for mentor points, just a cargo scanner and a blaster.

There are four providers of UC's in the serco dominion nationalist alliance, so yeah just no. It's easier to get that badge than a trident. Nobody cares about it is why, I have 11k Uc's or something in my stockpile idgaf about UCs
Rin I camp voys all the time and only once in a blue moon do I see UC shipments. You make it out to be as easy as finding a carbonic roid.
You're doing it all wrong, greenwall. Shopping for UCs involves a lot of spawning and/or travel and a cargo scanner. Regardless of rarity, they're a lot easier to pirate than they are to get via mentorship.
I give bulk UCs to all my friends for free, whenever I log in.
-1 to OP. Specific guilds aren't special and shouldn't be treated as so just because they have an issue getting and retaining active members.
It would be more useful to come up with gameplay suggestions which make your guild more enticing for people to join, for example making repairing give more benefits and be more interesting for the repairer, or some unique repair-as-a-group item which does an area-of-effect repair.
