The Blargian BoomFest (or BBF) is a weekly free for all pvp event held in Odia M-14. Participants home at Odia M-14, and murder each other repeatedly for 30mins or so, ending in the booming of my Trident. So, how does this madness work, you ask? I’ll explain. Prior to 1600GMT Saturdays, participants make their way to Odia M-14 and home there. Bring whatever toys you like. You must be homed at M-14, and on time to participate. At around 1555GMT I will ask participants to dock and remain docked until I call the Start in sector chat. I will then start a timer for around 30 mins (time may vary depending on the number of participants). Players then undock, and proceed to kill each other as often as possible. When my timer dings, I will undock in The Artful Dodger. The BBF ends when the Dodger is destroyed by the group. Simples!

OK, so, prizes!

This may vary in future, but for now there are 5 awards. Each is for 2,000,000cr, and a player can claim only one award/week. In order of awesomeness (most to least), the prize categories are:

Canny Striker (Killshot on the Trident)
Proficient Killer (Most kills)
Fastest Gun (First Kill)
First to Fall (First Death)
Hapless Target (Most Deaths)
other awards may include (but are not limited to):
Cop-Killer (Most Guard Kills)
Suicide by Cop (Most Guard Deaths)
Corporate Interests (Best K/D result with nil (or fewest) Guard Kills)
Results will be tallied FROM MY LOGS following the event, and both posted in this thread, and in 100.
And of course, some rules. I may vary the rules a little from week to week, but the standing rules are:
Rule 1. No docking (inc capships). That means no repairing, no reloading. The only way back into the station is by getting killed. Docking or /exploding will disqualify you from any awards. Death by guard is fine.
Rule 2. Only kills against other BBF participants count. Get the guards on your tail, and it’s your problem. Killing them does not count towards your kill tally. Ditto for non-participating passers-by that happen to stumble in on the madness. Death count works the same, only death by BBF participants counts. Deaths by Seekers/guards etc will not. (Obviously, Guard kill/death awards are the exception here).
Rule 3. You MUST score at least 1 kill or death (vs a player) to be valid for an award. Once you have a kill or death, you can hide in the station like a cowardly grot if you wish, but you need that K/D to get an award.
Rule 4. Ship/Gear restrictions. None what-so-ever. Fly whatever you like. Use whatever you like. Spamrag? Sure! EC 89? Go for it! Trident? Hell YES! BRING THAT SHIP!
OMNIRULE: My decision is final, and arguments will not be entered into. If you believe I have made an error in my tally, feel free to say so, but I retain the final decision, since it’s my creds in the pot, and such. Each players kills/deaths tally is based on MY logs. Ultimately, this should be about having fun booming each other stupid, not about who actually wins what.

This was the impromptu "shindig" that started this whole she-bang. Only 2 prizes, Most kills and most deaths. The whole thing was pretty ad-hoc, and I only decided to end it with the Trident death half way through the event.

Special thanks this week to Estrian Prosis, and Xihucoatl. Estrian wrote a nifty plugin, making it much easier to track kills and deaths, as well as noting the weapon used. I will endeavour to include such stats in future as most used weapon, etc, while Xihucoatl had a sudden fit of altruism, and donated 15,000,000 into the prize pool shortly before the event, upping each prize from 2 mil to a neat 5 mil per category.
Also, we have a tie for fewest kills, with both JayWhizz and Yetton who both went "out for a duck". The prize will be split between them (2.5 mill each).
Rin and Xihu continued their grudge match, again killing each other more than any others, and again, 3 players were too close to the Dodger when it boomed (Catman, Estrian and Xihu).
Lastly, someone dropped 20 mill into my account while I was saving the logs (looking at you Xihu...) bringing next weeks total prize pool to 30 Million. With that in mind, next week will have a 6th prize category "First Kill", going to the first player to score a valid kill, and again (at this stage) each prize category will be worth 5 mil. This may change in favour of having more prize categories (I'd rather pay out many players than have big payouts to fewer players).

Next week, I'm considering moving the BBF to an empty sector for ease of filming/lag reduction. I have a number of past players still owed award monies (listed below). For ease of my own record keeping, awards will be valid for up to 2 weeks from the date they were won (ie, if you take longer than 2 weeks to collect it from me, you forfeit it). All awards still owing will be listed in the OP.
