we of VO Rankings Inc. have discovered that the TPG Raptor UDV is OP.

the other day some guy managed to actually DESTROY the ship of another player (EC-89) while flying a Raptor UDV. this is not acceptable. the raptor UDV is clearly op. what if all people started flying it and scoring PKs? this is IMPOSSIBLE.

proposed nerfs:

- remove both large ports and replace them with one small port
- its much too hard to hit. increase its seize to make it atleast double as big as it is now!
- its got too much armor! reduce the armor to 5000
- its too fast! make its turbo top speed 200
- remove all radars

and then still it will be OP! believe it or not. we had just a report incoming that a player was sighted flying a raptor UDV and he HIT a valkyrie x1 pilot. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO SCRATCH A VALKYRIE IN 1V!s OMG

You can press the buttons on a keyboard, that means that you can probably get a job as a transcriber or a journalist or something. Why don't you do that and actually get some compensation for your time spent typing?

This is my response to the OP.

I have made a point to gain practice with the UDV. I think that the UDV buf of increasing the UDV combat thrust to be equal to that of the valk, did help the UDV in combat. I have used the UDV to successfully kill valks and proms, mostly against lesser pilots, but in same cases, even against highly skill pilots, some of which could be considered to have skill on par with myself.

The UDV has an unparalleled array of built in sensors, making it very useful for pirating, prospecting, operation in ion storms, etc...

The two large ports is a bit of a double edged sword, allowing the use of the megapositron and other popular large port weapons on a light fighter frame, while at the same time, disallowing popular small port weapons like laws and rails and suns. Jacks are not a form and fit replacement for suns, mainly due to differences in the proximity fuse safety not allowing jacks to explode at as short a range as suns.

While the UDV is still subpar to the valk in a strait up dogfight, it does have it's own unique set of merits, and is a very useful ship.

The UDV in many ways does live up to the role of faction specific super fighter.

More people should give it a try.

every newb can see that the raptor UDV is awkwardly OP. we are ashamed pizzasgood. we used to think highly of your pizza service. now it turns out you use cheap ingedients and you only use that much garlic cause you wanna make sure no one sees what you're doing...

Someone manages to hit an X-1, so what?

And really, just because someone manages to kill/hit someone in a UDV. that does not mean you should whine about it.
