Nov 11, 2015 thelazydj link
Vendetta-OnAir (VOA), is proud to bring you The Corporate Sector Run #7 this November 28th.

*** The TIME will be 3PM Eastern Standard Time, 12PM Pacific, 7PM Sunday GMT (Or 19:00 /time in game) ***

The race progress announcements will be announced on Channel 100

All citizens are welcome to race, there is no entrance fee, exact Prize Amount is to be determined and depends on donations (Will be at least 10 Million Credits!). Some of it could be yours!

The rules are as follows:

1) Racers must race from Odia M14 through Ukari, Union space and Edras heading clockwise back to Odia M14.
2) Race starts in Odia M14 near the station.
3) There is a maximum eight-racer limit (seven if there is only one MC), or four racers per group. This is to allow the MCs to actually be able to MC the race and keep track of all the racers. Spots are first-come, first-served, with a priority on those who post to this thread. The group sizes may be increased if the MCs can handle it and there is enough interest on a given event.
4) Contestants must be within 100m of the MC(s) before the start
5) No shooting before the race starts.
- Depending on the severity of the infraction, and at the host's (or hosts') discretion, violation of this rule can result in not only a disqualification for the current race, but also a ban from winning prize money as either a racer or an anti-racer in future Deneb Runs.
6) You die and you're out (so no /exploding)
7) All weapons and ships allowed.
8) First person to get back and dock at Odia M14 wins the first prize. (60% of Prize Pot - 6 Million Minimum)
9) Second person back gets 2nd place prize (30% of Prize Pot - 3 Million Minimum)
10) Third person back gets 3rd place prize (10% of Prize Pot - 1 Million Minimum)
12) Attempting to trigger a false start of the race is grounds for disqualification.
13) Money for killing other racers: Any pilot, racing or not, is eligible to earn money as follows:

Pre-condition #1: There must be at least 3 racers participating.
Pre-condition #2: Less than 3 racers complete The Corporate Sector Run.
If the above pre-conditions are met, up to half of the total available prize money will be awarded to those who killed the racers as follows:
- Kills in the Odia M-14 sector are not eligible
- The most recent eligible kill earns the highest racer-kill prize money (3 mil, 2 mil, 1 mil, or 0)
- The 2nd most recent eligible kill earns the 2nd highest racer-kill prize money (2 mil, 1 mil, or 0)
- The 3rd most recent eligible kill earns the 3rd highest racer-kill prize money (1 mil or 0)

Unclaimed prize money (up to 50% of the total the prize payout) will be added to the next Run's pot.

Any guild or player is welcome to donate to the prize pot, and by doing so will earn mention during the event and in the results.

Racers must register ahead of time by either /msg TheLaZyDJ at least an hour before start or replying in the fourm thread in RP section.

There was a amazing turnout, which was amazing, albeit part of the reason it happened was a misunderstanding of something I said in chat. I had mistakenly assumed that because I was late getting this event started that the turnout would be lackluster. So I threw it out there in 100 that if there were more then 5 racers I would add a piece of samoflange to the prize pot.
Somehow Piment took this as if someone brings 5 people to race I would give them a piece of samoflange and went on a mad recruiting spree. I can't help but to give the guy credit though, since we ended up with 10 racers and I had to scramble to get VOA set up to record that part of the group since we were too large for 1 group... Ahem, devs, fix that.
So we raced, and the race was intense, eventually I had to stop typing blurbs in 100 and just focus on turning and hitting turbo as fast as possible. So great race. A couple people used something other then a hound and quickly fell behind, reminding me that I need to make one of these races non-hound, but the next one is already on the calendar so look for that in January.
I did take first place thanks to focus and no space elephants present. Pleaseo took second and then Piment finished third. Video stops a little early, I try to run it until I give out prizes, because I actually had to use it to figure out who won.
Since I had finished first I had technically won back my own piece of samoflange, so I went ahead and gave it to Piment for doing an awesome job of recruiting, making sure that I explained what I meant just in case something came up that is similar in the future.

Watch this event on YouTube - There is an audio issue with this video, I apologize. And there were too many racers to try to make the map like I did on the last two.
