Rising Phoenix, posting statements like this has no value in here. You are perfectly right with most of what you say. You seem to have grasped what's going on here as a new player surprisingly fast. But nothing is going to change if you present your thoughts. There will always be idiots that affect player retention by making people feel uncomfortable. Heck, even now some idiots are trying to "diss" you over the internet, hoping you go away or adapt to their way of behaviour.

Remember this simple thing:
There's two types of idiots around here. Those who login and actually play the game and those who do not. The first type you can deal with in game. Fight them, destroy their ships. Have fun with them. Despite their annoying nature, they can actually be fun to game with if they are a good match. Keep that in mind when you see them throw around shit in here. Telling yourself "Well, he's an idiot. But atleast he pays for this game and tries to back his words with guns in space." is helpful there.

Then about the second type: Ignore them. They don't add anything valuable to the community. The reasons for their bitterness vary. Some are older players who once felt important in the game and then realized they were not. Others have even sillier reasons. It's better to ignore them and leave them to their illusion of winning the VO forums.
