And so it begins.
For many years, the greyspace system of Latos has been exploited by countless companies and most nations. Its people have always lived in anarchy and under the oppression of those with power to dictate. The people of Latos have come to their senses, and realized that they should no longer tolerate such tyranny.
With the several tensions between major powers in the universe, the people of Latos will not align themselves with any faction. We aim to construct and remain a neutral ground, however, ruled by its people.
And thus we proclaim the Republic of Latos. A place of commerce and diplomacy, not war. The Republic will, through its own defense force, enforce neutrality in the entirety of the Latos system through laws, which are still to be written by its people.
Due to being a neutral ground, the Republic of Latos will not allow fighting between factions to take place within our territory. The two parties will be confronted if they refuse to stand down.
The Republic of Latos claims the conquerable station of the sector I-8 as the capital of our nation. It will be as much neutral ground as any other sectors, and to prevent any issues with that claim, we are ready to provide ANYONE with keys to the station. Rewards will come to those who respect us and our neutrality, however, those who are against us will loose all benefits.
The Republic also aims to supply the station of Latos N-2 as one of our major goals, to not only raise interest in our system, but for all those who seek items they cannot find anywhere else in the universe.
The Republic of Latos will be formed by two major organs: The Latos Defense Force, led by a minister of defense and the Latos Commerce & Manufacturing Ministry, led by a minister of commerce. Those organs will be directly under orders by the government.
We, as a neutral and friendly people, will also take in other citizens who are not interested in becoming apart of the government. Those will be identified as regular citizens, and freelancers, but will be defended just like any other citizen of the Republic.

Orion Mining will not tolerate your littering & loitering anymore. Any attempt of putting up another cardboard box with the sign "Republic Of Latos" will be met by swift and merciless cleaning staff action.
This is your first warning for littering & loitering in stations cleaning supplies repository.
If you get caught again we will be forced to inform the head janitor and order him to evict you from Orion Mining station permanently.

After long and careful deliberation, I have decided to give my full support to the Republic of Latos. I have not taken this step lightly, but intense scrutiny and the information from my sources have convinced me to join this new and glorious nation. After all, what is there if we lack the freedom to govern ourselves as we see fit? Who can deny us this basic right? I see you nod and agree with me - no one. And those who try would do well to remember that they who try to deny our freedom deserve it not for themselves. Let us rather coexist, work together to our mutual profit, and prosper in peace.
