It was a quiet night last night, and we eked out 3 matches all with 12 different people. Lots of new pilots this night, which I thought was nifty - bringing new pilots into an event is sure to boost their understanding of PvP combat in VO (I think). While matches took a while to start, it wasnt nearly as hectic as the previous event was, and I considered it a step in the right direction.

The first match was with lisc4 and below items only. I did fret about people argueing about how that would implement, but it wended up being a fine night regardless. Even so, I dont think I will do that specific ruleset again - I heard quite a few groans.

best if you just use music you make yourself, or dont use music at all.

This is true. However I looked up the copyright policy on the songs I used, non should have gotten a strike. YT has gone to hell.
