pyroman has some nice friends eh!?
Mar 08, 2004 Pyroman_Ace link
Yes, most of them were convicted of possession of an illegal drugs, possession of an illegal narcotic, or just plain out and out brawls. Half of that 99% were forced into JROTC with me and are now the semi-dregs of my Battalion.

The other 1/2 were busted before I knew them or are currently awaiting trial.

Anyway, good luck IO. I would write more but currently I must prepare my cross-examination of Julius Ceasar for my History class.

/me is Head Prosecutor against Ceasar on charges of treason against the state. I tore him a new one this morning but the period ended before I could finish his destruction.

Oh and yes, his entire Defense is female, and they objected to EVERY QUESTION (litterally, I shit you not, EVERY one) on "Badgering the witness" "Leading the witness" "Hearsay" and "Circumstantial" when the questions were like, "State your name again for me please?" and that stuff. God...the jury was LAUGHING as I tore Ceasar apart!

funny, i just started reading Julius Ceasar by William Shakespeare in English class. not bad, but its boring to read a play and not act any of it out. i might do my homework for my other classes during that class. then again i might start volunteering to read instead of the people who dont have a (not to be an insult) "clear" reading voice

CONVICTED and sentenced to Death by Stoning!

I made a witness cry on the stand...I feel GREAT!
naw, although she did cry on the stand. I totally discredited her then tore apart her ENTIRE testimony in one swift stroke.

I even got the guy playinbg Caesar to ask for another cross exam because it was "fun". Then I directly destroyed the Defense in closing. IT WAS GREAT!

I hate people that mumble when they read and they volunteered for it. It's like "JESUS CHRIST! You volunteered, so READ! Dont just sit there mumbling incoherantly!"

i have to agree. last few days people have volunteered that i like as a friend but they have a mumbling problem. i would volunteer but i would have to be like the town crier or something. im always loud. lol

apparently my parents enjoy playing pool, so i get to have my password taken off, though i still dont know what it is. no parents till Sunday, and im stuck with my sister and brother again, yeah, go me. lol

Io, what OS are you running?
I find it just slightly ridiculous that your parents have administrative powers over your box(es)

randomblast: My dad keeps control over his iMac accounts for all of us, but really I do since he can't make the computer turn on.

He keeps trying to install ContentBarrier and accounts on my machine but he never bothers to revoke my Admin powers so I just go through and trash all the files...>:D

IO: Well, I think that being alone with your brother and sister is pretty poor standard but at least you can access the computer to speak to us.

And at least look at it this way, you're ungrounded now (it's the 16th now) and you have less than a month until this whole thing is really over with. After that, whatever the sentence is, then you start dealing with a PO or someone like a PO. And I've known a few POs over time, considering the whole friend's thing, and most of them are cool, they try to act more like a friend than a cop or other justice official.

randomblast: im running the Microsoft XP (Home Edition)

Pyro: what is a PO??? thats the only thing im looking forward to: this being over. so far everything has been pretty cool, and calm. i got grounded again because of stupid crap at school... *mutters under his breat about his Spanish teacher* oh well i have some tests coming up and i have to work on passing them so yeah...

PO = Parole Officer. You want to do whatever they say, and with a smile.
Mar 19, 2004 spectre_c_me link
ah ok, i have seen them before... not because of what i did, but some of my relatives. thanx FM
Mar 19, 2004 Pyroman_Ace link
Yes, you have some very ahhh, colorful relatives apparently. But yeah, FMs right, whatever a PO says, goes and with a big smile on your face.

The more your PO is impressed with you the more likely you are to have a nice end to this rather than the PO suggesting an extension of Parole and if the PO and you are cool he may permit you to take certain liberties that he is not required to give you in the first place.

Well, good luck with the survival of the sentencing and the whole grounding thing. Just be careful not to do anything illegal, like I dunno, homicide because that would be BAD! (although from your posts I gather the world could probably do without your sister or parents but dont do that unless you're desperate :P)

Geez that's ridiculous.
A friend of mine in New Zealand once threw his brother straight through a glass door, eliciting a broken arm and several cuts. There were no charges placed, ever heard of childhood rivalries? (Believe it or not, in some countries anything short of fatal injury isn't important)
Mar 20, 2004 spectre_c_me link
oh trust me, i dont get in trouble often. lately i have had bad luck, thats all. other than the same old boring talking to for talking in class and stuff like that i dont get in trouble often, or as bad as this.

i wont cause a homicide for any reason. though i have had a stroke of good luck: my sister was caught trying to skip school and she has Saturday Detention for it. this may or may not help me in my case but i have enjoyed the laughter of such a thing. lol

io...
I really haven't read all the replies in this thread but I have read all your posts and I'm worried that I do not detect any remorse in your posts.

This will be the single biggest factor in what happens to you.

Have you told your sister or your parents or the judge that you are sorry?

Are you sorry?
Mar 21, 2004 spectre_c_me link
truthfully: no im not very sorry for what i did. she has pushed people's buttons way too many times and to be brutually honest i think that its about time that she learned that she isnt better and that what she does has consequences.

lying: ditto

i have seen her go around and mess with people just cause she dint like them. i have been confronted by many of my own friends who ask me about things that happened between the 2 of us. i have been confronted about things that never happened. i do regret somethings that i have done, and i dont plan on ever doing this again. however, i wont deny the fact that i did this and that i have no choice but to take my consequences just like everyone else.

just to be clear, if it was anyone else i would indeed feel different about this. i just cant watch her play with people like little toys on display at Toys R' Us

Nice Jab io. Now if only she could read that same post...:P

Anywayz, back from Kansas (god, the Great Flatness got FLATTER!) with more legal advice...or stupidity.

RelayeR has a point with the remorse thing. Too bad your not in the Army, then the whole lack of remorse would be considered a Clean Marine thing.

On the whole sorry thing, if you're not sorry, don't shoot sh*t at the Judge, just say your not. Say what you just said to us and you have a fighting chance. The whole her playing people as pawns might work well. Although I'd talk to your Legal Counsil about using it...sometimes the Judge will allow you to speak before sentencing in an attempt to glean mercy.

If I were you (then you'd be me and I'd use YOUR body....oh sorry) just go in front of the Judge and say "Your Honor. I want to tell you before sentencing, I'm not sorry for what transpired. Now you can take that to be I'm a heartless person or you can see it the way I see it (justify why, basicaly what you've just said above)"

I wasn't attempting to imply that she had broken actual laws, though I did re-use RelayeR's term - which he had in quotes to imply he was using it as a figure of speech. The point is that he doesn't want to give the idea that he feels justified in "punishing" her for her behavior. In the eyes of the law, a citizen's job is to manage their own behavior, not to regulate others. My former occupation allowed me to hear this kind of situation on at least a weekly basis for years. I know how it goes down. Avoid focusing on the behavior of others, take responsibility for your own actions.
Mar 26, 2004 RelayeR link
Sorry it took me so long to respond, io...Pyro is right, if you're not sorry, the judge will know.
The judge will also know you tried to take "the law into your own hands". Everyone has this urge and it takes a strong constitution to resist it but we must.
All involved will see, down the road, that your sister will get punished for her behaviour by not having friends or losing a job by her actions or going through 3 divorces. These things ALMOST always work out in the end.
My point was, if the judge sees you're remorseful or have learned that this was the wrong way to handle that situation, he/she will go easier. If the judge thinks you are not or did not, he/she will try to make you learn your lesson with harsher punishment.
good luck and keep us updated.
