Too n00b, perhaps. But it isn't called a "record" for nothing. Why I still have fond memories of the time when I, and 4 other intrepid Golds entered S1 and took the blue flag, fighting tooth and nail for every inch of space we moved that flag across. Against Defbots, against half the blue vets, against a sizable compliment of serco vets. . .
It was an epic battle. Swarms flew everywhere, the flag went into 7, back into 4, then back into 7 again. Instanukes were fired. Nary a second went by without the sound of beeping homers. But despite the enormous odds, despite the vast forces arrayed against us, we, us 5 golds pushed that flag on all the way to S3 through sheer will.

Firemage was there. And Shadow of the Last. And Serco Turret something or other. And UncleDave, and a bunch of other blews and 2 or 3 other reds I can't remember.

WEEEELLL Durgia, considering that we did the 1000+ caps in 3.1, yes, I would say that it was all pre 3.2/3.3 defbots. Note: remember the turrets existed though.

Oh yeah, the good old turrets, the ones you could take out from 800m away with a few geminis. Yeah. Those were a real challenge.

Screw geminis, you could strafe circles round them and ion them to death.

heh you didnt even have to kill the damn things, a little up/down strafing did the job just fine, a short turbo boost to get the flag out from between the two that sat on it and you were all clear.
