How about a bit of background? What do you stand for (or against for that matter)? What are the requirements for entrance, and most importantly, what can your guild do for *ME*???

<How about a bit of background?:>
I was not a member of the first incarnation of the vipers because I was a bit of a newbie at the time. But it was a guild established by Cmdr. Jameson and UncleDave for the sake of cleaning up the community. They came along at a time when the tri-flares roamed the 18 sectors and newbie valk-jock griefers made the game an unpleasant experience with their griefing and general immaturity.
The first time around, they didn't do much, partially because everyone was anticipating a reset and nothing got done, but this time, I hope it comes out right.

<What do you stand for (or against for that matter)?>
Generally, we're out there fighting injustice. The Vipers stand as a sort of police force. We will protect traders from pirates by providing services as escorts, we will also intervene on behalf of players who are being griefed, and we will provide a pool of players to be contracted as bounty hunters as needed. (But we'll only take bounties on players who we think deserve it.) We will, however, try not to get involved in the war between the Serco and Itani because that's war, and war kinda sucks like that.

<what can your guild do for *ME*??>
To be perfectly honest, this guild is more about altruism that profit. You might make some money by hiring yourself out as an escort or bounty hunter, but mainly, we're here to function as a guild of vigilantes. However, if you enjoy combat, but have a conscience, this will be fun.

<What are the requirements for entrance?>
-You must have a good reputation among the community.
-You must have experience in combat and demonstrate your skills as an above average fighter.
-You must NOT be a griefer.
-Being a career pirate is frowned upon.

That's all I can think of for now. Old Vipers add or edit stuff that I missed.

Hey Magus,

thx for your comments. I pretty much agree with you...except for one point; definitely the benefit for the members is supposed to be to help each other. No viper should ignore the distress call of a fellow, for example. Temporary cash shortages might be covered by the guild as well, for example....

Ah, good old Commander Jameson... the default pilot name in Elite Plus :D

Above average pilot? Ah well. Guess I wasn't cut out to be a hero.

We'll offer training sessions too. Once we get the guild established, we'll probably move towards a more invitation based recruitment procedure. So if you act like a viper, you'll get invited.
