Now of course there is no one right way to play VO, but I have to ask what people's favorite way is. Mine consists of playing wirelessly in the living room, watching SciFi Friday and eating Cup Noodles. All about the noodles man. Oh, and with junky trance/techno/dance/crappy-Swedish-folk-music playing in another window. And in my pajamas.
wow........that sounds rather fun lol....have to try that sometime....swapping the noodles for TopRamen or Doritos of course...
nah me i just like playin at 3am with plenty of lemonade and FigNewtons around.

Play constantly with XTC on the speakers and a mug of green tea. Mmm.
XTC? From the late 70's - late 80's?
I've mostly got crap I picked up off of iTunes and a CD I got in Sweden, but they're all pretty good. I haven't heard of XTC though...
EDIT: Oh and of course, the stuff I make in GarageBand. ;)

I would link to their official website, but it's an obscenely noisy flash doohicky that reccommends using IE 5+ only. :(

Sitting at my desk with a big bowl of Beef Bulgogi over steamed rice and a movie soundtrack quietly in the background.

It may sound a little wierd, but my favorite time to play is when I'm sick. It's the only time I don't have to be worried about my parents catching me. Oh, and thanks for the Korean Beef recipe Ctishman. :D
Bulgoki recipe!!! Genin, I love you. :-D
grind/noise and beer, occasionally some black or death metal might sneak in.
I like to sit all alone in a some room some where in my house with some random song bot "Great Big Sea" (Irish drinking songs) and some good food. Oh yeah and a lotta hours to blow. :D
2) Deliver 42 crates of Longing from Massachusetts E-12, Boston to Newfoundland B-2, St. John's (5 jumps) (bulk) (2 credits)
Play? This is a GAME?

Oh yeah, I found a new place and setting. The computer lab at school right next to the sys admin who would give me like 5 detentions for playing it. (of course this is on my powerbook with headphones). Funny story, during one of my study halls (we would sit in a small room with 20 other people in DEAD silence as the teacher would sit at the front and made sure it stayed that way) A kid named Andy was secretly playing Ghost Recon on his laptop when all of a sudden the thing blasts through the complete silence with "BLAM-BLAM-BLAM! RATATATATATA! BLAM-BLAM! AAUUUGGGHHHH!!!!" before he realised that he wasn't wearing headphones. At first everyone thought we were under attack, untill we saw him sitting there frozen like a deer in the headlights watching the teacher. Needless to say, he never brought his computer to school again!
I love That!
Ahhhh, Amiri... Gotta love him... :-/
I dunno, our admin lets us play all sorts of other games. Ask him about Vendetta! 's not like it uses much bandwidth.

I play VO wherever I can. Usually on my Powerbook these days. (It's got a higher clock speed than most video cards! ;S)

I'm thinking of installing it on the iMacs just for kicks :)
and maybe a copy of "If you wanna be happy" playing in a neverending loop at full volume.

roguelazer: XTC! Yeah! If the forum had a buddy list, I'd want you on my buddy list. :) Big XTC fan from way back.
My favorite mode of play so far: wireless to my old Apple G4 733MHz, with Microsoft wireless "Natural" multimedia keyboard and optical mouse. Range sucks [um, less than 1 foot range] because the Apple and monitor are right next to my bed. I sit up in bed with lots of big pillows, keyboard in lap, and listen to music either from iTunes or my griffin RADIOSHARK. Could be anything I like: XTC, Yes, Beatles, Synergy, Howling Wolf, ska, jazz, pre-70s country music, post-1979 King Crimson, Talking Heads, swing, baroque ... but lately it's been copies of a great local college radio show that plays a cross-section of Indian and Pakistani music. I'm getting into that a lot these days. RADIOSHARK rips those for me like a Tivo.
Sound goes out to small powered stage monitors I use as speakers on either side of bed. Joystick is SAITEK Cyber USB Gold, or some crazy mile-long name like that, customizable for left-handers. Lots of custom binds taken from these forums.

joystick? bah, those things never worked for me when you have to fly in three dimentions. Flying a plane? sure. flying a helicopter? no. My friend Danny uses a joystick when he flies choppers in BF:1942 DC, but I never got used to it. Give me a keyboard and mouse any day over that. Plus I can outmaneuver his ass into the ground :)
But yeah, I still think keyboards are the best for VO. Oh and I've added the Dropkick Murphys to my list of tunes as well. Damn good Boston rock for ya! Hometown heroes.
