No one remembers me, but I remember good ole' Vendetta Test with the extremely sparsely populated 3 sector universe. Ah... Deathmatch sector and lightning mining the weapon widgets.... good times. This landmark period was the birth of CrippledPidgeon.
And then 3 sectors became 9 sectors, and everything changed. But CtC was a hell of a lot of fun.... until arolte mined the station I was homed in.
Then 9 sectors became 15? Sometin' like that, but I didn't stay there very long. Finding those damn hidden wormholes was too frustrating. But I think this musta been the time when I hooked up with *some four letter acronym* Genin and we started playing around with binding /explode. I doubt Roguelazer remembers it, but I distinctly remember taking my good ole' bus and /exploding it against his heavily damaged valkyrie. My only valk kill for the time.
And then at some point, there were the Avalon strikes on the Sector 12? station. Yea... silly me was homed there too...
And then came the 256 sector per system universe and I was very confused... Where'd everything go? But I was reunited with a couple old buddies and it was great fun, and it's only gone uphill from there.

I'm not quite as active the last week. Lost the flow and the joy due to the unending abrige of insults and petty comments from certain players.

Lookin' around here a bit and recognizing all the old mates (and enemies *evilgrin*) i'm gettin' quite excited about joining again. On the other hand I always was more of a fighter than a trader or botter (hmkay - there was no botting till the weird lvl system came up).
Most interesting here I found the Duel stats page. So there still are duels, that's nice to hear ;) at least a bit of action goin on (where I still think, that the amount of players in this 256^(?) sector universe thingie makes playing a bit lonely, doesn't it?).
Does the good 'ole art of pirating (or griefing - yeah, even that was fun. being either victim or evil griefer *Jarr*) still exist? Once having tested the new universe I had the impression that the game now was about travelling as some kind of lonely explorer, and not at all about the old trading and getting along with the dificulties coming along with that (<pirates>).
I wonder what people like Icarus (whom I, to my great amazement, still found on the online list yesterday) are now doin all the time.

I beg you to prove me wrong and to tell me, that there still is action. I would be so glad to take the rest of my trial time and test that out, perhaps signing up at the end of that trial time.

Come to Sedina B-8 in the evenings. All sorts of combat are available there. We had I think 8 pilots duel in a variety of official and unofficial duels last night. There was very little kvetching.

i am definately not a vet (late beta) however i am a representative of the current pirating community. let me tell you sir, dogfights can be found constantly in sedina b-8. Black Lance, Viper, and Itani Alliance guilds do a great job keeping the pvp action going throughout the game..... even if it does sometimes result in a backlash from the brave traders in grey space.
so come out and play sir! us Black Lance members are always looking for new and fun targets! :D

Combat is a sad, sad place in vendetta nowadays.
Running away is easier than ever, and even if you do find a willing target, most of his or her actions will amount to spamming the chat with colorful exclamations. A bit like it always was, in fact, but running away is about as hard pressing down the tab button with a few breaks to change direction by about 20º. Oh, and ego-mania is at an all-time high.
As mentioned before, Sedina B8 is the only place to find action today. That sector is a bit like the fights of s7 of old, except a lot wimpier. (Since there's no station to act as the center of attention, everything is stretched out over at least four km.) Everywhere else is miner-land.
I can't say much about dueling, I'm not too interested in that. Lots of more hardcore peoples do a bit of that though, but if you want a challenge, you have a choice of about four people.
Anyway, welcome back and enjoy your a bit more relaxed stay. :)

Well, I was in a couple of months but didn't pay for April, due to a lack of cash flow and some campains in Neverwinter I still got to play. I also got a bit bored of vendetta the last month, but that will change again soon, wasn't the first time. When I see you guys on the active player list, I'll think about contacting PayPal again. :-D

I have a question to the starting hours playing V., if i decide to play again V.! ehm...are the starting hours only for botting and trading to get better lvls and also ships or u can buy another bit better ship as the "uber"bus ??? and takes it long to get again at high lvl like in the beta (i think so at months June, July) or u get faster now to better lvls ?? cuz i hated that i botted and traded sooo long to get very good lvls and so couldnt use it then....
