suppose im the first one to point this out.
the "so sorry" song is not in fact the "rules" to calvinball. In fact there are no rules, and even so, the rules are changing constantly. The particular incident that led to the "so sorry" song being sung was as follows:
calvin steals hobbes' flag
hobbes touches calvin with the calvinball
hobbes declares that calvin must sing the "so sorry" song for stealing his flag
calvin counters that he was in the "no song zone"
hobbes points out that he had touched the "opposite poll" and that the "no song zone" was in fact the "song zone"
calvin says that it isnt so because hobbes did not declare it
hobbes says that he did declare it by not declaring it-the opposite of declaring it
calvin and hobbes start singing
calvin starts to go to base wicket 5- he gets free passage after singing
hobbes says no thats what we did last time
they think
hobbes says ok how about everyone jumps until someone finds the bonus box
calvin concurrs
they hop
