Anybody interested in buying a ThinkPad T40 or quiet gaming desktop?

*cough*

Anywho, I want to get a 12" Powerbook (or possibly a 12" iBook), but I need to sell my current laptop first. Plus, I don't need the power of my desktop, so I may as well sell it. Let me know if you're interested in either one.

IBM ThinkPad T40:
1.5 GHz Pentium M
512 MB RAM
40 GB HD
32 MB Radeon 7500 Mobility
Combo drive
14", 1024 x 768 display
Windows XP Pro
Standard battery (may need reconditioning)
Warranty valid until 2006-09-17

Quiet gaming desktop:
Athlon64 3000+ with Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1024 MB RAM (2x512 Mushkin PC3200)
160 GB 7200 RPM SATA HD (Samsung SP1614C)
6800GT with NV Silencer 5 (fan is noisy on cold boot, but quiets down)
Audigy2 ZS Gamer
8x DVD +/- RW
Floppy drive
Antec SLK3700-BQE
802.11g PCI card
Windows XP Pro

Both systems have been working excellently for about a year, and come with legal Win XP Pro licenses, as well as all included disks and manuals (at least, everything I can find... Which should be all of them.). The desktop system also comes with an OEM copy of Farcry. I prefer to ship via DHL or FedEx, but I'm flexible as long as it's insured. Oh, and I won't lie to customs, sorry. ;-)

I might be interested in the desktop. How much are you asking?

Dunno... Make me an offer! :-D

Also, I'd be happy to swap out the cooling on the 6800GT for the solution of your choice or install anything else for free, minus the cost of parts.

Actually, as I remember how much money I've just spent on my car, and that I'm going to be moving soon.... right now probably isn't a good time for me to be adding to my collection of computers.

Pschew. Both of those things in their entirety are well out of my price range. Can we bid on parts :p? I'd possibly bid on the DVD-ROM and possibly the HD. And possibly the RAM. And...possibly the video card. :-)

Though really, I suggest eBay as a better medium for selling those, you're pretty much guaranteed to make more money than on here, what with all us cheap people ;-).

...umm, did you check if Guild could use a donation?
May 11, 2005 Tyrdium link
Ummm... No. Sorry, but I simply can't afford to give Guild well over a thousand dollars.

Anywho, eBay is a pretty good idea... Thanks, cactus! :-)

Well, I can see how you couldn't afford to give it to Guild outright, but would you be willing to sell it to them for cheap? IIRC, one of the main reasons Guild hasn't made an x86-64 binary is because they don't have a 64-bit processor to compile it on. Not that there's any problem running the 32-bit version on my x86-64 box, but I'd still love to see a 64-bit version. Maybe enough to help Guild pay you for it.

Don't get my hopes up!

I'd certainly be happy to sell it to Guild, rather than on eBay. Plus, it'd save me about $50 in eBay fees, and possibly another $50ish in Paypal fees, which means I could sell it for a bit less.

It's a well known law that (to paraphrase) "the G5 powerbook will become available 24 hours after your G4 powerbook arrives."

It should be 11 days after it arrives. (10 day return policy)

I hope to buy a g4 power book about a month after the g5 power books come out.. that way they're all clearance priced! :)

Nah. G4 pb sales will be steady long after G5 pbs come out (if that ever happens). Some people still like laptops that don't spontaneously combust.
