It's in H.264 format. The LATEST version of VLC or QuickTime 7 is needed.
This was at a distance of about 7 megameters (7,000,000 meters for certain people) from the Sedina B-8 wormhole.
Edit: I was reading the meter wrong. Only 700 kilometers. (700,000 meters)

When I hit 3 megameters I got a huge temporal bug (moving at 15 km/s) and by the time I logged off and on I was back at 1.5 megameters. I'm going out to 3 again to see if it was a fluke...

Solra, what platform are you on?

Wow. This is something I have NEVER experienced. I'm quite surprised at seeing this.

My cockpit runs on a dual 2Ghz PowerMac G5 with Radeon 9600 Pro (64megs).

Yep, I was right. Three mill IS when the server cuts you off.
If only You'd managed to read the meter right in the first place I wouldn't have had to doubt myself.

i remember being far enough out that sector 14? (15 maybe, the one off old sector 10... 15, yea thats it.) crashed. Of course in those days you had to fc+eff to infiniturbo at a whopping 160m/s, so turbolock (in my case at the time a D-cell battery on the tab key) and leaving the comp running for a few days were required.

I got all the way out to 12 or so megameters. (confirmed, that is.) I gave up when I noticed that every time I got disconnected I went back to 1.5.
