I got the 1.8 GHz G5, 512 MB RAM (another gig coming), Radeon 9600, etc etc 17" flat panel.

Vendetta works. rglow automatically comes on, and gatten is very cool (although exploitable. jack it up to 1 and you can see someone's turbo sig 20km away).

I jacked everything up to 1280x whatever and got 80 FPS. Vendetta loads in seconds.

Everything is high on my computer...I've got a ATI 9600 Pro (The best version) have yet to even "Test" out the sweet over clocking feature lol. I get usually no less than 140 in any sector... roids or no roids. I only get a major slow down if there is a few thousand pieces of cargo in the sector and I'm near by them.

$3000 for the G5 and the 17" LCD.

Blaster, this is the 9600 Pro, it would have been $300 to upgrade to a 9800 Pro.

Grim, I have a G4/400/32 MB Radeon/1.25 GB machine that's gathering dust here..... :-D

no...thus is where u are wrong.

2 Differences of my pro version compaired to yours.
1. My gpu and memory runs at a faster speed by default. It is a better/changed chipset than the normal ATI 9600 Pro.

2. I can quickly overclock my gpu and memory 100mhz more in each category just with the click of a button. My framerate sky rockets like crazy when this happens. I see no point in it though at this time so I leave my stuff on default.

Costed me 800euro to upgrade it myself "6 months ago". Didnt want to buy a completely new system yet, thought about waiting untill the hammer is in its second generation, and wanted to skip the first one "less expensive ;)". And untill DDR2 is easilly attainable as is a good PCI express graca.

PS: I heard some nice things about a ATI9800 being able to make it a pro by using some shady patch. It was circa the same for the 9600. So this means, you buy the 9600, download a little pro patch/code et voila you have a working 9600pro :D

PS: Ill never never never spend 3000bucks on it, my max is 1000-1500. the reason behind this is that any state of the art pc will be outdated in a matter of secs while the more middle budget pc is easilly 150% cheaper and more then adequate.
