I just tried Vendetta on my T40 (1.5 GHz Pentium M, 512 MB DDR, 32 MB ATI Radeon Mobility 7500). I can run on Very High background textures, at 1/10 LOD, with Very High textures, bump mapping, and all the other good stuff, and still get 30 FPS in sector 12! (I was the guy named La who asked how to turn on rglow... Doesn't work with this graphics card :( ) I spent a full 15 or 20 minutes admiring the pretty ice roids up close and the pretty smoke coming out of the bots (they weren't attacking me, for some reason)... Vendetta is so much better with a decent graphics card... Anyway, way to go, devs!

yeah... what resolution... about 800 x 600? that'll be about right for a mobility 7500...
Pentium M must be very quick (especially for the power).

Uh, when I had my T23, it got 50-60FPS average at 1024x768/16bit with everything cranked....

Specs were

P3 Tualatin 1.133 (512k cache)
768PC133 ram
S3 Savage IXC 16mb

That's 16 bit. Half the quality, half the requirements. And, for the last time, 20/20 isn't LOD cranked! 1/1 is LOD cranked. I run at 1/1 on my GF4, but my Mobility Radeon 7500 runs at 1/14

16bit is the COLOR depth, that does NOT equal 2x the performance hit, usually it's only the size of the textures, which then has a somewhat significant hit, but is nowhere near 1/2 the speed.

And yes, I'm fully aware that 1/1 is the highest setting.

I used texture compression, and disabled VSync, and used 16bit textures, as it was only a 16mb card. Also, overclocked the core a significant amount. The result-60FPS average in most sectors.

I'm telling you, that S3 chip had awesome GL performance...

Ummm... This was in sector 12... The one with the sh*tload of roids... It's like 75 or 90 elsewhere...

I think 99% of the people can't tell between 24 bits and 16 bits, I use 16 on Windows, 24 in Linux, but no difference.
btw, I bet fenix is a second account of somebody :P

PS: I find it extremely irritable how people try to figure out who's people's aliases are, if you find out you should keep that information to yourself, unless you want to make people miserable. It's an RPG, most RPG players have multiple characters, most people in this game have had there aliases figured out and known, thats not how it should work! Bad! If the person has an unknown alias they have it for a reason!

Sometimes I play as another character because I have been here so long (well, longer then you The_Kid) ;), just so I can take a look at everyone from a different angle.
