"Well I don't know what you guys think about this. But I was sitting here thinking about how many bloody processors we have between us in this community, and how, between us that is a phenominal power beyond Virgina tech or anything... Most of you folk will know about the Seti@home project, where your computer is helping search space for radio signals etc in the hunt for other life etc...

Well its all very fine and dandy, but personally I think there are better things this power could be spent on... And FOLD is one of them. The work that is being done goes towards research in fighting Alzheimer's, Cystic Fibrosis, BSE, and many cancers among others.

All you need to do is download the screensaver, set up the cofig in your terminal, or run the little app when your not using your comp etc... However it needs a good group of us to do this, and the more people contribute - however small or big, the better. (and of course theres that bit of competition)"

We already have a Team going at the moment, and anyone is welcome to join. The team ID is 34948

Having a Grandmother who died of Leukemia and a Grandfather with cancer, I take this very seriously, so please only respond if you are serious about helping.

I might devote the ~7ghz or so of my network to a Vendetta team, but not some random other-community team...

All people that read this, this is infact a very serious project that Stanford has been conducting for a very long time. Any aid you can give them by downloading this helps them achieve their goal that much faster.

The amount of your CPU it uses is negligible so if you feel like doing an internet based thing such as S.E.T.I. or FOLD, I would strongly recommend FOLD. Because what good would contacting an alien race be if we can't live long enough to meet them?

I've lost a grandfather, Aunt, and a grandmother to cancer as well as my best friend's father was recently diagnosed with colon cancer (they caught it early though so his chance of survival is high).

Phoenix, I think you should form a Vendetta team perhaps.

AlenB, it's not somes random other-community, close friends of mine, i've known for 3 years longer than I've been playing vendetta. If we want to have our "own team" I suppose I could do that if it's that much of a big deal being with the team thats going now...
