some one broke a wendoew ( I'll look it up later) at the place my dad works and, cos' the alarms are on the DOOR's the thief stole all the compters in the place ( 100s!) and got away. freaky!

hmmm, as far as darwin awards go, how bout the police force wherever this happened. 100's of computers would take a truck or 2 to move. shouldnt someone have noticed that a truck was parked next to a window for crying out loud?

Stupid but common. A place that I did contract work for had all their laptops stole through an unalarmed window despite all the doors being watched. They even had a system where the alarm company could listen in on the building after hours, (but of course only if the intruder enters through a door).

Prolly a kickback invovled here between the alarm contractor and thier wayward half-brother the home invasion burglar.

yeah..... and I was exagrating a bit, try 50+ of dells..... every part of it., still a truck or more.

heh... the house(s) I've lived in have been robbed a few times.
The house we have in Taiwan is on the tenth floor, and the windows are protected with bars (not just verticle ones, but horizontal ones too). We have triple doors, 2 iron ones with complex keys (one's cylindrical with random indentations, the other one is some weird retractable).

and guess what? someone nontheless rappelled from the roof while we were traveling, cut through the bars in the window, and robbed our house... took everything apart looking for valuables.

BUT there wasn't much to rob, hahaha...
