yey ... I got broadband today ... only DSL 1024/128 or so (was the only thing with no traffic limit) but still better than my old, crappy, never working, unstable, expensive dialup connection.

danielky is right, once you cross that broadband threshhold, you can never go back.

thats not true paedric, i had internet access through college for a year, (there were times at 4am when there couldnt have been more than 100 of us sharing a T3, talk about fast downloads) when i left college i went back to dialup for over 5 years because DSL wasnt availible in my area yet. it took a few months to get used to dialup again, but i wasnt unhappy with it after that.

I won't miss dialup ... because of these things I now can finally enjoy:

- forums with avatars, pictures ... whatever else
- games
- somebodys cool movieclip/image/flash thingie
- image/photo galleries
- live streams
- heavy websites
- homestarrunner :D
- use more than one of the above at once (on the same day:))

damn i think i've downloaded more crap today than the whole month before.

Broadband = t3h rox.

I like DSL, but the stupid phone lines here (Lexington, Kentucky) are screwed. Every time it rains, our phone has static all over it and the DSL slows down to something like 10% of its normal output. It's pretty crappy.

There are some great dialup ("Fucking DIALUP!!!") Cartoons at this website...also a great webcomic, updated 3 times weekly.
