SL doesn't like schoolwork? Woah. How did that happen? ...

No, it's just that I don't like learning the same thing in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade.

Pffft. King Henry died drinking chocolate milk. That's all you need to know.

Wow, your math/science/whatever class sucks...

Chemistry with the most kick ass teacher in the world. She saw the paper and didn't really care, just said "I bet the milk comes out of that cow already in cartons."

You weren't supposed to be listening in 6,7,8,and 9th grades SL. 10 might be too soon even. I'd start listening next year. That way you're not so bored and can actually pay attention. By then you should also be able to draw rounder cows.

Uh ... where do the cartons come out ... that is to say what orifice ... oh heck, never mind ...

you have metric during 4 years and you still don't use it?
I am beconfoozled. But maybe you have some kind of educational trauma from the inflationary instruction of the topic.

The US edumacation system is special, you see. It's a spiral learning system.
That means they tech you the same junk year, after year, after year, after year...

Metric is for math sissy's Tosh, come on, any one can do factors with 10. Besides how can we switch when the other way is named 'standard'?

heh... that's like the argument against macintoshes (a few years ago), when people said they were women's computers because they were easier to use (hello?).
o well...

Damned straight, *NIX is a MAN'S system! :P

Yeah, the US education system sucks. It's gotten even worse under Bush (the arse)...

According to my physics teacher, the US attempted to switch from the English system to the metric system a while ago (The Metric Conversion Act of 1975 (Public Law 94-168) passed by Congress). For about a decade, food distributors (is that what you would call them?) printed both English and metric measurements on the packaging of their food, road signs had both miles and kilometers displayed on the side of the road, fun stuff like that. Unfortunately, the only company who managed to make an impact of any sort was Coca-Cola, with their 2 liter bottle.

Come to think of it, a lot of that stuff is still in place... looks like they're still trying. I blame the overall stupidity of Americans.

maybe once they do switch, we can have computer screens with normal numbers for diagonal measures...

There will be NO switch. I read 1984, I know how it's done. You're not fooling anyone! George might be able to take away my liberties but the damn neo-con globalist pigs aren't touching my measurment system. What's next newspeak? Sheesh...

You guys just think your cool cause you drive like 100kph all over the place but I know it's not really that fast. Your sissy fake big numbers don't fool me.

metric doubleplus ungood

14515 kilograms and what do your get? Another day older and a deeper in debt.

What do you mean by "normal"? 17, 19, 21 inch displays sound normal enough to me.

Some people say a man is made outta mud
A poor man's made outta muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine
I loaded sixteen tons of number nine coal
And the straw boss said "Well, a-bless my soul"

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain
Fightin' and trouble are my middle name
I was raised in the canebrake by an ol' mama lion
Cain't no-a high-toned woman make me walk the line

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

If you see me comin', better step aside
A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't a-get you, then the left one will

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
