Ok, im a graphic artist and i have ome spare time on my hands, I was thinking of compiling and putting together an updated guide much like osidians but bigger and more in detail. I'd like to know from everyone what areas I should cover in the guide.

Please list them and then explain them ^^. Hopefully ill have this all done by the time the new UI is debugged.

Nah i'd like to build my own ^^. a pet project is always fun.

I still think it would be easier to build off of/add to the Wiki, but...

If you're gonna make a guide, if you see it on the Wiki, it should be in your guide. ;)

Ill try to add most of the wikir stuff into it ^^. ill also expnad upon it as the wiki is missing alot of stuff.

Please don't re-invent the wheel, or the wiki.

Chikira, if you want to update something, work on the wiki.
We should concentrate our efforts, not dilute them.

If you feel there are parts missing from the wiki I'm sure many will be pleased to have you help add new sections. Also, you can post your artwork in the wiki. There have already been many manhours put into the wiki and I think it would be best if you put your energy into strengthing the wiki, not trying to replace it.

Im doing this as an explaination of the new UI to new players and vets who are having trouble swicthing between the two.

lets make a link from the wiki to it, so that people who use the wiki have easy access to it. I think that's a fair compromise.

If you're just doing the UI, why are you copying Obsidian's user guide?

I really think the website, or at least the wiki needs to be updated with: culture, history, and a more comprehensive overview of each nation. This should be very graphical, and complement the already existing backstory. I made a post about it here under the account 'tourist'. ( http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/12131 )

I think it would be best if this were constructed by the developers, and followed a consistent vision. However I think guild is currrently lacking an active, creative/lead designer figure (who has filled Waylon's shoes?), and maybe the community will be able to play a useful role with their own conceptual input.

I am sort of annoyed that ships are being added as 'new ships'. New polygons to play around with, but still don't seem to fit into any overall framework of -- This is distinctly Itani design, this is Serco etc.

New players right now are essentially choosing between three colours. It's like science fiction without the fiction.

If there is anything I think is missing from the wiki (and the game) - this is it !

I probably could do that ^^. I'm copying it and adding in additional new ships set to start entering vendetta relatively soon. 2 to 3 months fro the last I checked with Inc.
Basically its a walkthrough of the new UI and an information guide for beginners on the new UI as well. This will include ships/ histories/ and factions etc.

Chikira, I'm gonna side with sarahanne on this one, it would be better to use the existing wiki framework, and just add to it. Because that way, EVERYONE will be able to contribute.

Well at least make it in something that we can post as a PDF or a HTML doc. Unless you are completely bored out of yer skull. But allowing others to collaborate is always beneficial.

Oh i got no problem making it a collaberation project, I was asking what to include in the first post anyways. Currently im going to explain in detail the new UI and the Ships as well. Ill be putting together the factions and providing the detailed or basic backstory of each..

Edit: by ships I also mean the five new ones scheduled to make an appearance I believe within a few months. Factions ill be providing what ships they will and will not sell you, and eventually the level requirements for each. Ill also be putting together what "Basic Items" are usually avaliable, and what would be a preferable trading route for some of the larger items.
