Lost Circle-S graphic in nav map

Apr 07, 2003 Turmoyl link
Last night I had this bug occur after swapping in and out of Vendetta (in a windowed mode) several times.

The rest of my map symbols were fine... all colors, sector markers, etc. were normal.

I zoned several times and logged out of Vendetta completely then logged back on but the issue persisted.

After rebooting fully the issue resolved itself.

You're referring to the station indicator on the radar, right?

Was it being displayed as a white square, or was it not there at all?

Any chance you might have inadvertently hit SHIFT-S while chatting? I believe that's the toggle for stations on radar.

I'm not too happy about the radar toggle feature. The default keys should be changed to something else. It's just waaaay too easy to hit the caps lock key and have hell break loose. And the changes to the radar display should stick, (for those who do use it) so that they wouldn't have to do it every time they log on.

I think the toggle radar is fine, but I tend to agree about the default bindings. I lose pieces of my radar all the time. Let us change them. Suggestions? shift 1-5, i.e. !@#$%25, or something? maybe we should support caps/alt modifiers if caps/alt aren't bound themselves.

hmm, looks like percent gets double-escaped into %25.

My vote definitely goes for making Caps lock its own key. Come to think of it, that'd make a good selector for the arcade-physics toggle.

euhm I have it already bound to the del button, arcade/physics alteration

I hit to many times par accident the caps lock.

and mabe could you when you add a tiny led or a led that states arcade/physics and light it when you are in physics or when you are in arcade. I mostly know when I am in what but sometimes it could be handy :D

cheers

Don't you dare touch any of the !@#$%25^&*() keys!!! i use those keys for my text binds, why? those are the only set of keys i can find that arn't used!

Suicidal lemming orders his prometheus, warthog, vulture, hornet, centurion, gold heavy thing, centaur, transport, and wrath to guard the keys.

gold heavy thing = ragnarok

and me sends the combined might of the ultimate devships together with the small detachement left from selling his vast shipyard after the couple keys possessed by SL.

and by every shot of his beamcannon he hits one ship in SL's possession. And whenever SL tries to shoot back, the ultimate warships just take defensive measures with as effect that SL just is shooting his own ships. And again you hear the beaming of the devs ships thrumbing down on SL's ships.

Seeing that magnificent fleet being obliterated in a mere couple of seconds. And because of Renegade ++RIP++ vigour in battle , he is awarded with dev's beam cannons to fit on his fleet :D :D :D

"hint hint hint, me really wants possession of a dev beam cannon "

"hehe"

cheers

Woops - forgot to check back on this thread after I posted yesterday. heh

No, I don't think I shift-S'ed. The only place I was type-chatting at was in TeamSpeak and I wasn't using any caps at all. Although I certainly could have hit the caps-lock key I don't recall having to turn it off and as I continued to type-chat in TS it didn't send caps.

When I say gone I mean GONE - lol. No square white box, no color, nada. And yes, I mean the Station indicator on the radar. All other radar items were normal, though.

Here's another thought...

Even if I did somehow hit Shift+S to disable the Station indicator I got it back by rebooting.

This means that if you willfully adjust your radar it is not persistent over a reboot.

It isn't saved in any configuration file, so it isn't persistent between runnings of Vendetta.
