I downloaded vendetta off the site to try using a trial account. No problems installing but when i patch it stops at 21324/22729kb of the nav3816.pch file. ive tried deleting the file and getting a fresh download several times. also tried reinstalling. nothing seems to work. seeing as im using a trial account chances are i will have to create a new one to get the full ammount of time. im running a windows xp home edition. cable connection. 1g DDR ram geforce 5500 OC 256mb ddr 1.8ghz amd athlon. sound card is software based(wouldnt think hardware specs would matter considering but who knows) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Making a new trial account won't really change anything; something weird is going on with the updater (and the trial itself only counts the time you spend actually playing the game, not messing around with the updater, or whatever). nav3816.pch shouldn't be anywhere near that big. Try just nuking the 'manual' directory (in your Program Files/Vendetta Online directory) and re-run the updater. Also, if it gets stuck, can you copy and paste the last several lines in the updater window (the stuff after the change logs)?

I appreciate the fast response considering it was in a general forum. i tried deleting the manual file and it started download over. now it is getting to 19730/24326kb with 0 seconds remaining. sounds like values are wrong somewhere. but this time instead of the nav file it is

Current size of this file is close to 20mb in the folder (it and the nav file were not in the manual directory and were the files causing the problems so i deleted them as well.)

And thank you for the info. most trials are from day one. good to hear seeing as it may be a couple days before i get this working.
