/buddy remove "character name" not working as advertised
Say Xyzzy buddies up with Zork with /buddy invite "Zork". Later, Xyzzy decides at some arbitrary point in the future "Oh GOD how I hate Zork! I don't want to be his/her buddy any more!" and types /buddy remove "Zork".
Xyzzy is no longer informed of Zork's online status. Good. That works.
Zork, however, still is able to see Xyzzy's status as well as any logins and logoffs. B0rk3d.
I'm not sure if this is intended or not on the devs' end, but I know that if I want to stop being buddies with someone I sure don't want to know they can see me logging in and out through a feature that says something about us that isn't true (at least on my end).

i.e. celkan hates me.
No... :P
I just wanted to clean my buddy list out of people I never talk to anymore [ego]as well as people who I have decided don't deserve to be on there[/ego] :P
Let me check if you're on there... yep. I think after we tested that out a bunch of months back, VN, we just rebuddied. You aren't as much of a PITA as you were then :D
You weren't one of the people getting removed... it was mostly people who don't play anymore or don't need to be buddies... such as Martialis, Vault, Darthmonkeyman...
NB: I'm not listing names to be mean or anything, I'm just saying "these players don't play often enough (if at all) for it to be of any use for them to be on my buddy list any more."

I've seen a dev post about this, you have to get THEM to remove you from their buddy list as well. I think it was intentional.
Yeah. it's intentional. We may take another look at it and change it, though.
Mainbutter: How likely is it that someone you have on there that you suddenly find yourself in a massive disagreement with is going to agree to that if they have decided to hunt you at every oppurtunity?
Not very.
I wouldn't call it a bug--more of a design flaw that doesn't take into account the fact that players' perceptions of one another change over time in both positive and negative directions.
EDIT: and then look at it this way as well...
If I remove someone from my buddy list because of a "massive disagreement" and they decide to hunt me using the online/offline feature they have been "blessed" with, and I ask them later on to give me the same advantage so I know when to be on the lookout they can decline my request and have that unfair advantage.

Ok, we changed the buddy remove command so it removes the association on both ends.
