LeberMac is broken...

...after trying to kill the Levi in Sedina A-5 last night/this AM.

Queens shot out unlimited Aerna Seekers as missiles?
Any BOT, from Overseers to Observers, could heal the Levi at astonishing rates.
Queens respawned when dead?

I mean, I know I asked for killing a Levi to be HARD, but come ON!

So I'm broken from my repeated deaths.

We were desperate. I was actually going to try bombing the Levi with a SamoMoth. And what happens? I lose the moth and the Samo in a storm!

The day before I was lag-killed in a Leviathan sector and given up on trying to destroy it. ;-S

that was AWFUL i had night mares those stupid bots need to have to be within like 300m of the levi to heal not like 1000m!

At least 10 of us, full-timing it. We needed 2 groups.
I'm sure it was due to the whole update being FUBAR, but... GAH. It was fun in a futile and depressing kind of way. Except for Nerde losing his samo, that SUCKED. Someone did manage to pound the levi about 1000m out from its current position inside the ring. I was impressed.

Wouldn't ya know it, I came with the 90-day limited warranty but it's day 93. Figures.

If the playerbase was larger, I'd say it should require more than 10 players to mount a successful attack on the Levi - I'd say at least 30, better yet 50 players should be working togther to be reasonably certain of victory. But with the current playerbase it's not often that 50 players would be available for a Levi hunt together.

Scince we don't have 50 players the i think 10 should be able to kill it. that about 1/3 of the adverage online poulation. they shouldn't make it to hard or no one will try to fight it.

Beo - Nerde took samo with him so he could RAM the Levi with his hugely-heavy Behemoth at 180 m/s, causing a large amount of damage.

SOMEONE rammed it good, because it ended up outside the rock-ring by about 1000m. I had just assumed it was Nerde.

Again, I think this is just a temporary bug, because it's gone down MUCH easier before.

Is it possible that the Levi was "healed" when all the players left the sector?

I think it should only be healed by collectors.
That'd make it interesting and also important to have a collector killing group.
Also the respawning of all bots is another bad idea.
Makes it pointless to kill bots.
I could see the levy slowly making queens and the queens slowly making bots but as it is......
Just frustrating.

I think the main problem with the whole setup is the healing bots...

1) there are too many of them
2) a lot of them are badass overseers and the like that come within range, and quickly nix anyone trying to clean house
3) their effective range is WAY too far... they should be more hindered in defensive and offensive maneuvers when healing the levi.
4) chasing them off or attacking them is futile, because for every one you pop, one or more take it's place.

Fix that, and the majority of the problem is gone...

to fix the rest, I think there needs to be some kind of limit on how fast the damn things can respawn... a group should be able to affect the population of bots in the sector by botting for a while.

PS. Did anyone eventually kill it?

It takes the major bots (overseers & guardians) something like ten or fifteen minutes to respawn. Should that be even longer?

I would vote yes if that's the case... but how about the queens? what happens when a queen dies?

here, i dug up the quantity and respawn times of bots in the stronghold out of the code.. these may all be a bit too fast.

queen x4: 5 minutes
overseer x6: 5 minutes
observer x10: 8 minutes
guardian x15: 3 minutes
assault x20: 2 minutes

What do the x20s mean? Are those the max number of bots? So an assault will spawn every 2 minutes until 20 are reached?

I don't really care TOO much about the respawn rates, since all we have to do is shoot the queens and then lead them around until our bombers can make unmolested runs at the Levi.

What I DO care about are the healing abilities of the bots. That's been covered in another thread, and I think that having only the specialized bots be able to heal is a good thing.

Now that I look back on it...
Perhaps modifying the Queen's pursuit A.I. behaviors would be important. If they sense the Levi under attack and at less than 20%, perhaps they should stop chasing us "pied piper" types around and go back to defend their mama.
