Hmm yeah, something's not right with the collision damage. We'll have to look into it.

Replying to that:
It's not just collision damage. Walls are no longer solid.

"Now included in Vendetta: Jell-O Edition: Racetrack cheating!" -Niki
"how the hell? Did you take a shortcut?" -Greenwall
I finally tried it, since ~+4QUAF00TB@TH+~.mp3 knocked down my Superlight time with a centurion mk1:
to complete the G-5 race you must:
1) trip the start (exiting or entering the start-point)
2) pass thru the 1 checkpoint
3) trip the finish line (exiting or entering)
the G-5 race tube has loads of spots where you can punch thru the walls. My current (May 14, 2014) 35.648 was run thusly: exit the start, punch thru near the checkpoint, punch out after it, enter the exit. I'm still impressed with Footb@th's 25.855, and Niki's 23.616. I must be missing some key method.
Either remove the top times down to and including Surb's 43.073 in an EC-107, or just accept that now it is a competition of how well you use the exploit.

I still think the game should have some kind of special case for that. If a player's ship is *inside* the collision mesh of something that's supposed to be a solid object, shouldn't the server move the ship to correct it?
The same thing goes for cargo drops. I've had them floating inside my Trident plenty of times where I had to move so they cross the outside of the mesh before they could be picked up.
I guess that might be pretty computationally intensive?

Remember that time a trident type-m got a race time?
