Android not free?!?!??!?!!!?!!!?!

Aug 21, 2015 Grog5 link
I've just got a hudl2, and after having used up the 32 hour free trial, I was asked to purchase a subscription! FYI, Americans, a Hudl 2 is a tablet developed by Tesco (a UK Walmart-like store). I'm running Android KitKat. How come vendetta will let me play as much as I like on my GameStick, but not the Hudl? Of course, the Hudl doesn't have a controller, so the controls are on-screen, but other that there's no difference between them.πŸ˜•πŸ˜πŸ˜ž

P.S: What is VO Lite? I'm considering it as opposed to the far more expensive full version. Until I get a job (only 14 πŸ˜‰), I can afford $0.99 per month, but not $10 per month... πŸ˜„

I don't know why it's not working with the Hudl2. I can answer your question about lite accounts though. Compared to a free account, a lite account just lets you play on PC as well. It still has all the other restrictions that a free account has (level capped at 4, not allowed to be a leader of a guild, and required to spend crystal for some items). Full subscriptions have no restrictions.

It sounds like the tablet is not correctly being identified as a tablet, and you should raise a support ticket.

Savet: Well it did occur to me, because the Hudl is an own-brand kind of thing... But I didn't think it would be an issue πŸ˜• Thanks, I'll try a support ticket. 😊

Pizzasgood: Thanks 😁Would you say that those restrictions on Lite are a big thing? Do they bug people? Or is it really only 'hardcore' Vendetta-ers that are bothered by them?

Whether an account is Free-To-Play or not depends on what kind of client first connects. If you use a PC client to connect, you get a trial experience. If you use an Android device to connect, you get a Free-To-Play experience.

All Android versions can create accounts internally, and then connect to them, resulting in a Free-To-Play experience. But, if you created the account on the web, and then used your PC, and then logged in with your tablet, you will end up with a trial account.

If the device runs the Android version of the game, it will be treated just like any other Android device. It doesn't matter what kind it is.

Well, they would bug me, but I could probably be described as hardcore. I have no idea whether they bug other people. People who aren't me are weird.

Here's support ticket. To understand why this is now resolved, read the staff's first answer, #2.

I believe support tickets can not be viewed by the public, but only by the player who sent them in.

And Vendetta Online is playable and possibly also enjoyable with a lite subscription. But don't expect to be able to compete with most of the VO veterans on any terms at all. For the top tier equipment, levels far beyond 4s will be needed. I recommend getting a full sub whenever your financial situation allows it in the future. It is definitely worth it.

Eh. Sieger is being hyperbolic. High-end gear certainly helps, but is not at all essential to being competitive. Level 4 is sufficient to get a pair of Neutron Blaster MkIIs, a Fast Charge Powercell, and a Vulture MkIII. If you can't beat somebody while flying that, you probably won't be able to beat them with anything else either. Better weapons than that will make practically no difference in most situations. A better ship will make a more noticeable difference than better weapons, but still not a huge one. It's mostly only important when fighting people who are close to you in skill.

Being capped at 4 will make certain things a lot more difficult though. In particular, the lack of access to Swarm missiles will make fighting things with shields harder. Not impossible, but you'll need to either learn to use Avalon Torpedos, get very good at stacking Stingrays, or make/hire some friends.

Gat Mk2, Sunflares, and 21k armor goes a long way for beating somebody easily, especially on mobile.

Thx ppl. πŸ˜ƒSome nice tips.

Basically, because I created the account on the GameStick, it was marked as a GameStick account, not a regular android one. They marked it as android and I can play it on anything now 😁 Yay! ☺Thanks a bunch. πŸ˜‰
