Black Flashing Screen

Sup guys,

I have encountered a longstanding bug now on my samsung tablet, it doesnt really interfere with gameplay tho and im kinda lazy hence why its taken a good six months to report it. Basically its a case of the graphics output flashing black for a moment. Its quick enough that when it happens during pvp even that it doesnt cause a serious problem, although it can be offputting. It also doesnt interfere witn the touch inout.

In addition to this i have been wondering if it might be possible for my tablet to be added to the vr capable list. I shall list its stats below for bug finding purposes.

The tablet has never done this on any other app or game.

Its a samsung, SM-T705, 8.4 inch tablet with a quad hd capable screen. It has an octocore processor, triple core gpu, and a 4gig memory module, but i only get to see 3gig. I think the other gig must be like a pc for onboard graphics. Model numbers of processors are below.

Samsung Exynos 5 5420 OCTA x4+4 1.9ghz
And for graphics;
Mali-T628 Triple Core GPU.

Hope this helps!

About how long has VO been running when this begins to occur? I have stumbled upon this twice, and only when VO had been running for excessively long times. Both incidents were far apart from each other, and I thought nothing of it.

I use a Asus P10M; a Zenpad. idk the exact model, if there are multiple.

Yeah, how long does VO run before the flashing starts? It could be a GPU overheating problem.

I got it to happen again, buti dont know how long VO had bee running. Given that the issue survived logging of, closing, and opening the game back up, i conclude it is my tablet cauing the issue here (at least, for me, anyways).

Luxen, have you ever seen another graphically intensive game do this?

Raybondo, this has now happened approximately fifty times for me, and often it has happened soon after booting.

Also, i have had a tendency to fluctuate the level of graphics settings due to certain aspects of my binds and plugins, they can become quite intensive processor usage sometimes, but this problem repeats with no consideration of whether i am using said plugins and stressing the client heavily, or if im sat in an empty sector with just me chatting, not using the plugins at all, or my binds, also it does not make any difference if i just booted it, or have been playing for hours. Also, it is never frequent. If im playing for a few say six hours it might happen 2-3 times, and spaced out.

This suggests to me that the problem is not based on gpu overheating, as the problem happens when my device is cold to the touch and even when it is getting warm.

The problem has happened a few times when i have literally just pulled my device out to use, i.e. just turned on the screen, and whilst unplugged, and gone straight into the game, and then it happens pretty soon in game. But only in vo, and its not the only graphically intensive game, and by far not the most intensive. The texture resolutions and polyginal models are much more complex in other games. (I love the vo look tho :) )

Never more than once in an hour i think, never caused an effect with the touchscreen, i mean in pvp even i am still afforded control of the ship, and not long enough to cause serious troubles.

It seems to me to be caused by some kind of cummunication issue between the gpu and the screen, maybe something about the refresh rates. its also worthy of note the first moment i saw that vo likes to run at 60fps i set it back down to 30.

But the flash would persist for around 2/3 of a second.

I hope this helps.
