Crashing in sim VR mode

Jan 20, 2017 PaKettle link
I am attempting to set up my VR and ran into this problem after getting the HDMI issues solved.

I set my resolution to match my VR goggles which loaded ok.

I then turned on the Simulated VR mode but when I reloaded VO it started crashing.
The crash happens right after The giant V and R flash on the screen edges.

Suggestions?

Remove all plugins, specifically ones that change the UI. What VR setup are you using btw? I'm guessing it is of the "not supported" type, as you wouldn't use simulated VR on a supported headset.

I thought of the plug ins and removed them first.
No I haven't gotten to actually switch to the headset yet as it is rather hard to configure stuff when the vr image is wrong....so it isnt the headset.

Regular monitor, no plugins - and several different resolutions etc and still crashing.

Linux btw...

Hm. can you try running VO directly (not through the updater) with gdb and when it crashes, type 'where' (without the quotes). Then send me the output, please.
Our stacktrace system doesn't work very well for linux64, unfortunately.

Any luck yet or do you need me to crash some more ?

Sorry for the delay, it's been hectic here these past couple weeks.

Which Vendetta Online video driver are you using? OpenGL 4 or OpenGL Reference?
Can you send the contents of the openglinfo.log and/or opengl4info.log files?
It looks like it's failing to load the video driver.

Also, what are these big V and R letters you're talking about?

Sent you an e mail and a bug report from the crash.

I just get a flash of a V and an R (sometimes) in what maybe 2 side by side circles. The crash is a split second later so all I really get is the after image. Afterwards I have a black window left open with the title of unknown and sometimes a bug report.
