Launching from station opens controller config screen

May 20, 2017 Faille Corvelle link
Not game breaking or anything but currently, launching from a station is opening the screen displaying controller setup. Once closed, I launch as normal. Have not tried sans plugins (too lazy tonight, and it doesn't prevent me playing...). Playing on PC.

There is a little checkbox that says "do not show this screen on undocking" or something. Tick it and it wont happen again. It has been like that for a while on 'droid, so I guess they made that change universal.

Ah, thanks

Do you have a gamepad plugged in? If not, it shouldn't be shown.

None plugged in, but it's possible it was detecting a wireless one from the PS4 or something. No Joystick, either. Regardless, checking the box yoda mentioned solved it.

If you do use a ps4 pad from time to time on your PC it s possible you have a gamepad detected even with none connected for sure, as the emulated controller stays around to help with things like pad time outs, or changing from bt to usb etc.

Anyway can we please pack it in with the mobile shiz on PC? The new controller menu is a nice step for easier configs and all, but all these full screen menus and hand feeding is getting old.

I have never successfully managed to get my lappy to find a wireless controller, but I have tried in the past, so it's possible I left some detection settings active or similar.

This isn't "mobile shiz". The point is an improved immediate UX for any new user, be they on Steam Big Picture, or just plugging a gamepad into their desktop. I mean, the existing joystick config system was an unfriendly abomination, this is basically just bringing us vaguely in-line with any modern game on Steam.

I'm sure we'll continue to refine the way it looks (especially as it was released without ever showing it to me, which isn't supposed to happen), but the general functionality is a good idea.
