Flight Assist engages full rear thrust

Jun 16, 2018 Risk Everything link
Using Samsung Gear VR (Galaxy S7), with an XBox One controller.

Pressing 'A' to engange Flight Assist causes the ship to engage full rear thrust.

Also, no amount of dead zones and calibration stops the ship from drifting with a continuous slight right turn and downward tilt. Makes mining difficult as I have to actively fly the ship just to sit still.

Fixed on latest update. Tested on my Oculus Go and Xbox One S controller.

Strangely, the Xbox One S ("Wireless Xbox Controller") seems to have hardware with about 4x worse input-jitter/drift than the Bluetooth "mobile gaming" controllers from Steel Series, Moga, Nyko and Razer.

I would not have expected that from a first-party mainstream console accessory, but it's widely borne out by complaints on the 'net since the controller was released. Having the very latest firmware is helpful (firmware update requires plugging it into an Xbox or Windows 10 PC). But even then, the hardware performance is just.. not the greatest.

Anyway, yes, the Xbox One S controller should be "as good as possible" now, in VO.

I've since switched to my laptop and am using an old wired XBox 360 controller which works great after Luxen helped me adjust some files. The main limitation of my GearVR was limited play time due to power drain.

I actually bought that XBox One S controller specifically for this game, choosing it over the Steel Series due to lots of complaints about that controller's quality control. Ah well, it might end up being used on my g/fs XBox instead...
