Have you tried without any plugins installed, and if so do you get the same result?

Have you opened the file errors.log right after a crash, does it contain anything that looks like an error?

Just because your machine is a donkey, it really doesn't matter, if it worked before and it does not now it could use looking at. :)

We received a couple of bug reports from Barktooth.
It looks like it's crashing in the video driver.
Try switching to DX 9 driver or lowing your texture quality setting to see if they help.
