If you are escorting the transport and jump into the sector with the wormhole to Jallik, there are 4 Serco ships waiting there which will try to attack the transport once it appears. But until the transport gets there they idly sit there and you can easily pick them off from behind - the attacked ship will retaliate but others will not join.
