Monterey

I just upgraded from OSX 10 to 12 (Monterey) and am experiencing very jumpy and skippy visual effects...definitely not nearly as smooth as it was in OSX 10. I've tried adjusting graphics and video parameters but nothing seems to improve the experience. Any procedures or help would be appreciated.

Yes, I had that problem initially. Downloading the client from the website allowed me to get past the login screen and into the game.

The problem I'm having is in game. The game's visual effects are jumpy/skippy, even from the spinning station in the login screen to actual game play.

I have:
Deleted everything and installed from the App Store: can't get past login screen.
Deleted everything and installed client from website download: still have visual effect issues.
Neither attempt above had plugins installed.
I have attempted to change graphics/video settings to correct the issue, but had no effect on the issue.

I am running a 2017 MacBook Pro, OSX 12.0.1, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB. No other apps/programs were running (aside background apps) when attempting the above fixes.

Update: Switching to the OpenGL Reference driver and turning on Retina support solved the vast majority of the problem. Still a bit jumpy, but it's much better. Also, I now realize this thread belongs in Mac OS forum.

Did turning on V-Sync help at all? On our mac mini with Intel GPU it helped smooth out the framerate pretty well.

to be honest the intel iGPU is terriable at gameplay due fo fps frametimes and actual fps count. a simple solution is setting the game to 30fps so this helps the iGPU as well as keeping as little overhead as possiable. Vsync on low fps devices can cause large amounts of input lag, not ideal for this type of twitch based gameplay.

The hitching your describing is generally down to bad frametimes, again set a fps cap and dont enable vsync is what i would reccomend.

Also u said u updated your OS version, knowing apple they probably slowed it down just look at what they do to iphones >.>
